  1. They are out there. ...and made famous on TV...
  2. ...is pretty self explanatory. The revolver holsters that do not cover the trigger are not sufficient under NJ statute.
  3. Call National Range and Armory - (570) 601-4101. They are good people and I just bought a DWX Compact from them. As of an hour ago, they had a S2C on the shelf. https://nationalrangeandarmory.com/ They are in PA, but will ship to your FFL in NJ. Make sure they don't charge you PA sales tax. ETA. It is still there. $1249. Get it before it's gone.
  4. I'm not sure that's true. E.g. I believe PA Sheriff's Offices do a NICS check when you apply for a carry permit.
  5. I would think that with the inner holster sleeve keeping the gun in position, and the outer part covering the entire gun, it is in compliance with NJ's statute. On a side note, I really dislike the video that was the only place I could find that showed the inner holster. To be able to conceal carry while you're out running is great. Why on earth would you plug your ears with headphones to disable the only 360 degree sense you have? Your situational awareness is significantly reduced by doing that.
  6. It is in the statute: 2C:58-4 Permits to carry handguns. ... h. For purposes of this section, "holster" means a device or sheath that securely retains a handgun which, at a minimum, conceals and protects the main body of the firearm, maintains the firearm in a consistent and accessible position, and renders the trigger covered and inaccessible while the handgun is fully seated in the holster. ...and carrying without the gun being in a holster is illegal: 2C:58-4.4 Safety requirements, handgun carry. 5. Safe carry requirements for authorized holders of a permit to carry a handgun. a. The holder of a permit to carry a handgun issued pursuant to N.J.S.2C:58-4 shall not: (1) use or consume alcohol, a cannabis item, or a controlled substance while carrying a handgun; (2) be under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, or a controlled substance while carrying a handgun; (3) carry a handgun in public outside of a holster or carry a handgun in public in a holster that does not meet the requirements of subsection h. of N.J.S.2C:58-4; (4) carry more than two firearms under the permittee's control at one time; or (5) engage in an unjustified display of a handgun. A violation of this subsection shall be a crime of the fourth degree, and any such violation shall constitute full and sufficient grounds for revocation of a permit to carry a handgun issued pursuant to N.J.S.2C:58-4.
  7. Sadly that is insufficient for NJ purposes. NJ's definition of a holster has to cover the body of the firearm too.
  8. Registration for the 2024 PA State IDPA Championship is open. It will be held at Wilkes-Barre RPC from July 12 thru July 14. Sign up here: https://practiscore.com/2024-pennsylvania-state-idpa-championship/register
  9. I just do quals as an occasional side gig. Email me at [email protected] to set up a date. The class would be held at Phillipsburg Pistol Club. https://maps.app.goo.gl/MZLu4FB7Te7QafNQ8
  10. If you're willing to take a trip to Phillipsburg, I can do it for you for $150.
  11. John is a good guy. Sometimes he writes things with his tongue so far in his cheek that he risks biting it off.
  12. Critical Duty has the Hornady H logo on the polymer tip. Critical Defense does not.
  13. Lol. That's a good point. For example, if they obtain a handgun in NJ without passing NICS, because they can't - they would then be disqualified from carrying it because they committed a crime . Except in NJ, it is only a crime if you get caught. The same is every law is Constitutional, unless the court says it isn't.
  14. During the investigative work to try to diagnose what was causing my beautiful girl's lethargy and ataxia, it was discovered that she also had megaesophagus which caused her to suffer with aspiration pneumonia. This is a condition where food does not pass smoothly through the esophagus into the stomach and can easily be coughed up and inhaled into the lungs, causing an infection. It was recommended to keep her as upright as possible while feeding so gravity would assist in the movement of her food through the esophagus and into the stomach. A device called a Bailey chair helps support the dog while they eat and for 15 minutes or more after feeding. I built this Bailey chair for Hena last Saturday. She used it for 2 days until her decline rapidly accelerated and she was put to sleep yesterday afternoon. If anybody has, or knows of a similarly sized dog with megaesophagus that could use this Bailey chair, please reach out. It is free for any dog that can use it. I'm in Hunterdon.
  15. How are there 2 carry permits issued to 19 year olds? Doesn't the statute have a minimum age of 21?
  16. The law on duty to retreat has 2 very important words in it. You must retreat if you KNOW you can do so in COMPLETE safety. It does not mean you have to run if you only think you might have a chance to not get hurt, maybe.
  17. People don't face the DA in court unless they have been charged with something. I smell something fishy about this story.
  18. Is there anywhere that is within 90 minutes of JFK? If ever there was a <expletive of your choice> awful place to get to, it is JFK.
  19. One thing to consider with the EZ. If you have a compromised gripping ability, be sure you can reliably deactivate the grip safety.
  20. If his original qual did not include the use of force curriculum, his permit is currently invalid (as of 1/1/2024). He should contact his instructor to get a form SP.182 filled in and file it with his PD. If that means he has to take the UoF class, he will have to do that before his instructor will sign the SP.182. For my students that qualified with HQC2 modified, I only had them take the classroom instruction before signing their SP.182. There is nothing to say the shooting qual and UoF training have to take place on the same day. The day they completed the UoF class was the day they completed both parts, so that is the date I put on their forms.
  21. It sounds like he got his permit before the CCARE qual was introduced, so I presume he did a re-qualification before the end of last year. That re-qual is good for 2 years so it would still be valid for his first renewal. He would have to do it again for his following renewal when his next carry permit expires.
  22. This has gone away. The sheet we instructors are required to fill in, SP.182, for proof of completing the use of force training and the CCARE qual has no place to write in the gun that was used. There is no way to submit quals for multiple guns any more.
  23. Best practice is to have the trigger completely inaccessible. It's there any chance a drawstring that you find inside some coats could get in there?
  24. It is with the 3rd Circuit to decide the appeal of the preliminary injunction. Oral arguments were held on Oct 25th last year. Nobody knows how long they will drag their feet. Once they have decided the appeal of the PI, it will go back to the District Court to be decided on the merits. Undoubtedly, the final decision from the District Court will also be appealed to the 3rd Circuit. It is taking forever, all the while our Constitutionally protected rights are being trampled, 6th Amendment be damned. Speedy trial, my arse!
