  1. I put 100 rounds thru the shield a few weeks ago. Nice gun but it beat the hell out of my thumb knuckle. I find it to be too thin for me to get a firm grip so it rocks with each shot and the top of the backstrap bangs into my knuckle. HG has them to rent if you want to try before you buy. 2. I've decided on a Ruger SR40C. Now to save the $475 to buy it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Because they can....money doesn't always equal taste. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Probably a Navy Gunners Mate. They are regularly referred to as "Gunner". Got a little confusing when I was in the Navy since my last name is pronounced the same way but I was not a "gunner" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Guess this isn't happening. Been here alone for 45 minutes.
  6. That review is giving me second thoughts...I'll have to handle one and see if I can take a few shots with it. The issue of the slide hitting his hand may be a problem. I have bigger hands and can actually get a good grip on the gun. His hands look to be considerably smaller than mine causing him to grip it differently. I had a similar problem with the M&P Shield when others have sworn by them. Because of the size of my hand and how I grip, that thing beat the hell out of my thumb knuckle with every shot. By the time I finished two boxes, the bruised thumb knuckle told me I don't want a M&P Shield. With the R51 being a larger gun, it may not be an issue...never had a problem with my 1911 or G17 (Gen1) I guess we'll see once Remington starts shipping them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Not sure where you're located but, if you're close to Easton, here's one option... http://www.heritageguild.com/Classes-and-Training/NRA-BIT-Pistol-Instructor-Course.aspx?viewmode=desktop Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Cheap 1911's

Back in the early '90s I carried a Springfield Armory 1911 (9mm, city didn't allow .45) as a duty weapon as both Military & city LEO. I can't say anything bad about it all. It fired every time I pulled the trigger, was comfortable to hold & shoot, easy to maintain and looked Cool As Hell. I switched to a Glock 17 after about 10 months because of the weight difference. I was working both jobs at the time and dropping an extra pound off my belt for (sometimes) 14-16 hours /day was the deciding factor me. I didn't have the $$ at the time to keep both so I traded the 1911 in for the G17. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I think we all may be surprised how many people would exercise their right to carry if they are given the opportunity. I'm not talking about the ones who are openly pro 2A, I'm talking about the Moms who have to take a minivan full of kids into Irvington/Newark/TheBowelsOfHell for a soccer playoff, the senior citizens who have been repeatedly harassed on buses in those same locations, the young waitresses/bartenders who leave work late at night, the hairdresser who closes up and makes the bank drop(my wife). A lot of those people haven't been vocal about CCW because they don't know that it's even an option in free states. Given the knowledge and opportunity, I think a surprising number of those people would hop on the CCW express. And, once they've gotten a taste of freedom, the Anti politicians who would try to take it away don't stand a chance. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Ok...saw it while I was there and wasn't sure how good it was... Move along folks, nothing to see here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. I know it's not bargain pricing but....it's in stock. Walk in empty handed (except for money), walk out 10 mins later with 1200 rounds and an ammo can. Depends on how quickly you need a lot of ammo. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Fortunately, our Chief and, AFAIK, all the officers are pro 2A and feel that the citizens should have the right to protect themselves as they see fit. Citizens being able to protect themselves better could even lighten the workload on our already over stretched police resources. We have about 20 +/- officers covering ~25 sq. mi. of Warren County 24/7/365. They usually average 4-5 LEO on the road at any given time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Just left Walmart in Easton & saw that they had several of these... Price is a little high but they come packaged in 200 round PVC "Battle Packs" in a steel ammo can. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  24. We definitely stand to benefit from the action. My point was that the other states aren't doing this to help the residents of NJ, they're doing it to protect themselves from FFF (Future Federal F***ing) I'm glad that this is finally getting national attention from states that feel it could threaten their liberties and are stepping up to defend other states from constitutional injustice.
