  1. I agree. Notice the difference in words between MG, Rifle and Shotgun. MG says press whereas Rifle and Shotgun say pull.
  2. Good question. Here are the definitions in the current law: "Firearm" means any handgun, rifle, shotgun, machine gun, automatic or semi-automatic rifle, or any gun, device or instrument in the nature of a weapon from which may be fired or ejected any solid projectable ball, slug, pellet, missile or bullet, or any gas, vapor or other noxious thing, by means of a cartridge or shell or by the action of an explosive or the igniting of flammable or explosive substances. It shall also include, without limitation, any firearm which is in the nature of an air gun, spring gun or pistol or other weapon of a similar nature in which the propelling force is a spring, elastic band, carbon dioxide, compressed or other gas or vapor, air or compressed air, or is ignited by compressed air, and ejecting a bullet or missile smaller than three-eighths of an inch in diameter, with sufficient force to injure a person. "Machine gun" means any firearm, mechanism or instrument not requiring that the trigger be pressed for each shot and having a reservoir, belt or other means of storing and carrying ammunition which can be loaded into the firearm, mechanism or instrument and fired therefrom. "Rifle" means any firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder and using the energy of the explosive in a fixed metallic cartridge to fire a single projectile through a rifled bore for each single pull of the trigger. "Shotgun" means any firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder and using the energy of the explosive in a fixed shotgun shell to fire through a smooth bore either a number of ball shots or a single projectile for each pull of the trigger, or any firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder which does not fire fixed ammunition. It's definitely a firearm. It is not a machine gun (since it needs to be pressed and released for each shot) It does not appear to be a rifle since it fires more than projectile per "pull" cycle. Note: shotgun (which already have trap triggers) use similar language of pull. It appears to fit the laws.
  3. I think it has to do with the whole trigger mechanism. When it's on binary it shoots one on squeeze and one on release - two functions but one action, when it's semi auto it shoots like a trap. I believe the other binary triggers shoot semi on the squeeze and just block the release shot. That's what makes it different. A small change can make a world of difference.
  4. I'm not looking at it from a cost/benefit analysis. Call me a kook but I lean pretty libertarian. If alcohol is legal, and I think it should, so should pot be. It's not that it'll be a windfall from taxes, it's just silly - to me - to be illegal.
  5. The gun won't fire when you squeeze the trigger. The mechanism is set so that it only fires when you release the trigger. Very unintuitive.
  6. You can't call it a s...hole, that hurts Booker's feelings! I agree with you that it's unlikely the accident rate hasn't gone up. But CO has reasons to bury the statistics. It doesn't want to be seen as negligent for their decision to legalize pot. To be honest, I'm perfectly fine with it. I personally don't smoke and have no intention to; I don't like it. But adults are capable of making their own choices and being responsible for them. And DeBlasio's NYC has not seen a decrease in street level crime. They just don't report/arrest/prosecute as often.
  7. Yeah, I avoided picking up a cheap shotgun because of that. It would be seriously awkward getting used to.
  8. That really makes sense. Make the semi function a trap trigger and it avoids being classified as a rifle.
  9. The reports are conflicting as to whether or not accidents go up. Some reports show no increase (which should mean fatal accidents would not increase) while others show an appreciable amount. If there truly is 0 increase in reported accidents - or at least statistically no change - than there is no additional fatal accidents. Which leads me to the conclusion above. I don't have access to the actual reports, nor do I plan on going through them, but I do not see how legalizing a drug that has mind altering effects can result in no increase in accidents. Which, again, is what led me to the conclusion.
  10. I find it very unlikely that accidents would stay the same if it became legal. My guess is that the accidents are generally minor and go unreported.
  11. I've had this issue a dew times when ordering ammo from them. Everything else (BCG, trigger kits etc) come flawlessly. As soon as I email them about the ammo - they have my info - the shipment email comes the next day. They've said they have my account marked as ID verified, but I haven't ordered from them anymore because of the hassle. I order from Midway now.
  12. Outdoor show, Cabelas and cheesesteaks, damn this sounds like fun.
  13. I pinned my stock through the bottom rail of the buffer tube. On a side note, if I were to build another AR, anyone on here do compliance work to pin the break?
  14. You're right that nothing says it needs to be permanent; but if it is very easily removed it probably would not pass if it got inspected. I'd say it passes the spirit of the law but IANAL
  15. The only thing I can think of is that it's not permanent. How easily can it be removed?
  16. My take: since this started as a rifle and the brace is taking the place of a stock, the brace is acting as a stock. Since it's foldable, it would violate the assault weapons law in PRNJ. I would be prepared for a drawn out legal battle if you take it to the range.
  17. Funny thing, their website says the Binary Trigger System Pack (the trigger kit) is not available for sale to civies in NJ. So I wonder if they will send a gun that has the trigger system in it to NJ. https://www.franklinarmory.com/products/binary-firing-system-gen-iii-trigger-pack
  18. I already paid 3 year dues for ANJRPC, so I'm in it for at least that long.
  19. I don't disagree with you above points, but I do think that the divisiveness (handgun for HD people, revolver people, shotgun only people, bolt-action people) is what allows the above to happen. I can't tell you how many times I've spoken to gun owners who see new laws around guns being proposed but say "eh" because that specific law does not necessarily affect them. They still pay dues and silently vote the same people in. If everyone was willing to fight and make it known that they were against these additional laws, backroom deals and laissez faire attitudes less laws would be passed. For one, there would be fewer anti 2A law makers in office and two there would be more support for lawsuits. But there isn't because there are too many people of the "I only need a shotgun for home defense" ilk.
  20. Seriously. It's the inability of the community to come together to defend all encroachment that has let us get this far.
  21. From 15 to 5 (FIVE!?) ROUNDS? Of eff off Jasey and Quijano.
  22. And she wasn't even trying to get a CCW as far as I know. She was still waiting on her handgun permit to purchase!
  23. I also have a Milwaukee M12 heated hoodie. It's wonderful. I already have a few M12 tools, so I have a bunch of batteries and chargers. Three different temp settings so you can leave it on while in the car on low or crank it up while in the garage working.
  24. My work never closes, we just work from home. Had a lot of fun sledding with the kids down the hill in the back though. Hasn't snowed much in Parsippany, 3 or 4 inches maybe. I don't even think I'll take the snowblower out.
