  1. Well, at least he has our back, and is there to support the 2A and help us, you know, with those Conservative judges and all... Oh, wait..... Bump Stocks.... ...."President Trump on Monday morning condemned gun “silencers” like the one police say the Virginia Beach shooter attached to his handgun while killing 12 people last Friday evening. “The suspect in the Virginia Beach shooting used a silencer on his weapon. Do you believe that silencers should be restricted?” a reporter asked Trump outside the White House, as the president departed for a U.K. visit. “I don’t like them at all,” Trump replied, according to a pool report." https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-says-of-silencers-like-one-used-in-virginia-beach-shooting-i-dont-like-them-at-all
  2. That's called Death by a thousand cuts. and we'll be able to use them as clubs, hammers and paperweights instead, since ammo and parts will be gone.
  3. You can try: G & M Custom Formica Work in Keyport, It's been a few years since I talked to George, the owner, I think he's still in business. He use to build all my professional cabinets when I was building medical offices and he built my complete kitchen when I redid the whole thing.
  4. Remember, that whole group are hypocrites, as long as he keeps promising free shit, they'll vote for him. Hell, Greenday can't wait for the primaries so he can vote again for his King.
  5. This is true.. Remember, like 80% of Millennials (the ones with the debt I mentioned in the article above) voted for Socialist Bernie, because he promised FREE everything... and he's running again, along with many MORE Socialist candidates.. I keep telling you people, if the economy melts down before the 2020 election (which by the looks of data and trends, it will), a Socialist promising all this free crap can win! Plan accordingly..
  6. Saw this article pop up today, since we were talking about how to pay for college. Seems like more an more kids (and adults) are fleeing the country because of their HUGE ($20K) school loan debt that they can't pay. One note to you future parents of college kids, if you co-sign their school loans, and they flee the country (like in this article) YOU'LL be on the hook to pay it all back.... Just something to think about before putting your name on that loan too... Debt-Laden Americans Flee Country To Escape Crushing Student Loans ...."Chad Haag considered living in a cave to escape his student debt. He had a friend doing it. But after some plotting, he settled on what he considered a less risky plan. This year, he relocated to a jungle in India. “I’ve put America behind me,” Haag, 29, said. Today he lives in a concrete house in the village of Uchakkada for $50 a month. His backyard is filled with coconut trees and chickens. “I saw four elephants just yesterday,” he said, adding that he hopes never to set foot in a Walmart again. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/25/they-fled-the-country-to-escape-their-student-debt.html
  7. That's your Blue Team's Liberal Logic at work. ... and you still vote Democrat, so sad...
  8. Didn't see anyone else bring these up, anyone concerned yet? Two of the House bills seem to deal with criminal activity (which none of the members here are involved with), but here are two of concern for us: There’s also a bill (A5452) that would require people to renew their firearm identification card every four years and show that they have completed a gun safety training course each time they renew the license. Active or retired police officers and former members of the military, however, would be exempt from the rule. Finally, the last measure (A5454) would require places that sell handgun ammunition to track their ammunition sales and report them to the State Police. They would also be required to make sure people purchasing handgun ammunition are 21 years old, which is the legal age for buying a handgun. Then, in the Senate, they have their own versions of what they want to see: S3706 - 10% tax on Ammo & 2.5% tax on Firearms (in addition to all existing taxes) Fortunately accessories are not affected so smart retailers can have a 'special offer' where if you buy an AR upper (for the normal cost of the complete rifle - $10) they will sell you a lower for $10. S3707 - Increase FPID + Pistol Permit Fees. FPID will increase from $62.66 to $157.66 (from $5 to $100 base fee plus the $57.66 fingerprinting fee) Pistol Permits will increase from $2 to $50 (plus the $23.40 for a background check when you apply + ~$15 NICS for each pistol) https://www.nj.com/politics/2019/05/tracking-ammunition-sales-and-requiring-more-safety-training-here-are-4-new-ways-njs-tough-gun-laws-could-get-more-strict.html?utm_campaign=njcom_sf&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_content=nj_facebook_njcom So, anyone concerned, or will these just be added on to all the other unconstitutional gun laws in the state?
  9. Looks like I didn't give you that suggestion soon enough. I don't even want to know what her insurance premium is...
  10. New system. R22 units are dinosaurs and expensive to fix/recharge. Plus everything else in the furnace is aged (controls, heat exchanger, fan motor, etc.).. Sorry, time to bite the bullet...
  11. ...." Murphy, a Democrat, has made gun control a focus since taking office in January 2018. He has signed a string of new measures to tighten the state’s already strict gun control laws. His administration has been publishing monthly reports to “name and shame” the source states and manufacturers for the guns used to commit crimes in New Jersey. " So Phil, will you be targeting Ford and Chevy when texting teenagers kill someone with their car or a DUI driver runs over a little old lady? ...."On Tuesday, Murphy said more than 80 percent of guns used in crimes here through the first three months of this year came from outside the Garden State. Bill Castner, the Murphy administration’s senior adviser on guns, said the next step is publicly identifying “bad-apple” dealers of such guns. “Who are the ones actually selling the guns?” Castner asked. Hey Bill, I can answer that, legal gun dealers who sell to people who pass a NICS background check.... Next question. ...." Much of the focus Tuesday was on Trenton. Mayor Reed Gusciora said part of the problem is that kids with “no alternative and no hope” turn to neighborhood gangs. State Sen. Shirley Turner, who represents the city in the state Legislature, said poverty, underwhelming education, and a lack of hope have helped caused gun violence to be an issue in Trenton for more than 20 years. " Well, if that's the problem, why are you blaming the guns? Duh.. Fix the conditions in your crap hole city!!! How can the Democrats be so brain dead and stupid?
  12. I would suggest getting one of these: At least you'd have some sort of protection.
  13. You know exactly what I'm implying. People need to make a decision, either live in the TRUE reality of life, or live in their "Perception" of reality. It's a choice everyone needs to make.
  14. This is correct, that ship sailed a long time ago. The voting booth is useless. Unfortunately, your hope is misplaced in that vain. There won't be a legal remedy for fixing all the 2A issues in the country. It's too much of a hot button issue, and because of that, they might just nibble around the fringes, but the real issues WON'T be fixed. This is the ONLY solution, but "We the People" have been neutered and became passive. We need REAL men, like we had back in 1776. Do any still exist?
  15. Are we seeing a pattern yet here boys?? How much longer are all you guys willing to wait? Maybe if you all click your heels 3 times, the Supreme Court will FINALLY come to your rescue?? Then again, if you're realistic, it's going to be a really long wait (Probably never).......
  16. I love that post... My belief is that we get to hung up on the latest and greatest gadget, and sometimes forget the basics and what is the most simple. The old saying "KISS", (keep it simple, stupid) is a good rule. For me, I learned to shoot as a kid over irons, one reason, because we didn't have fancy optics back then. Even now, where I can afford to buy any optic available, I still choose to shoot over irons when ever possible, and not rely on optics, even if they can be of help. I feel it's better to try improve shooting over irons then taking the easier route with optics. And like Max said, trying to improve my "instincts" versus relying on a electronic gadget. Main reason, my eyes will usually always work, but if unplanned "situation" arises, do I want to put my faith in the hopes the battery is good in the optic and it will turn on and work as it should and have over reliance on it?
  17. There's news, but you're NOT going to like it. Here's the news release: U.S. SUPREME COURT DEFERS ACTION ON ANJRPC CARRY CASE May 28, 2019. Today, the United States Supreme Court took no action on ANJRPC’s challenge to New Jersey’s carry law in the Rogers v. Grewal case. That means one of two things: either the U.S. Supreme Court will relist the case for consideration at its next conference on May 30, or the Supreme Court will defer its decision on whether to take the appeal pending the outcome of another case. The Supreme Court’s intended course of action will become clearer as the matter unfolds. https://www.anjrpc.org/page/SupremeCourtDefersActionOnCarryCase
  18. Did anyone read the list of injuries? They were all lower extremity.. Either the shooters were firing from a Low Rider, or they needs more range time (and never learned in the 'hood to shoot for center mass)... Male, 36, two gunshot wounds to the right hand, stable condition Male, 29, gunshot wound to the lower abdomen, critical but stable condition Male, 29, gunshot wound to the right calf, stable condition Male, 32, gunshot wound to the right ankle, stable condition Male, 30, gunshot wound to the buttocks, critical but stable Female, 29, gunshot graze wound to the right thigh, stable condition Female, 23, gunshot wound to the left thigh, stable condition Female, 27, gunshot wound to the left knee, stable condition Female, 33, gunshot graze wound to the right calf, stable condition Female, 25, gunshot wound to the buttocks, stable condition
  19. I'm glad you mentioned that... I know people who tapped their retirement accounts (or home equity) to pay for the kid's college. Now, they have hardly anything put away so they can retire, and will probably only have Social Security, and will be living in a refrigerator box. DON'T EVER DO THAT!! NEVER!!! That's YOUR money to use for YOUR retirement, that you busted your ass to earn and save. With almost 50/50 odds your kid won't graduate college, NEVER spend YOUR retirement funds on his college. You need to take care and plan for yourself FIRST! While we're talking about money, also NEVER co-sign a Parents Plus loan with your kid. If they default and don't pay (which is where about 40% of college loans are now), YOU will be on the hook for repayment, and YOUR credit score takes a hit. Plus, a Parents Plus loan NEVER goes away and can be really hard to discharge in bankruptcy, so it will haunt you until it's paid off...
  20. This is a great point. Many kids have no idea what they want to to study or do for a career after high school. Hell, I know a bunch of adults still trying to figure that out. Instead of automatically sending the kid to college, a few years in the military can help "mature" them, give them some training in a skill, and then they can get out and hopefully have a better idea what they want to do. Remember my comment above, over 40% of kids drop out of college and never graduate. I would guess many are in this group who aren't mature or focused enough. Why blow tens of thousands a year and get zero return, and a BIG bill to pay back?
  21. If you're referring to the 529, yes, it can be used for trade and voc school tuition, not just standard college.
  22. No experience... I live in a communist state, we have to swing 16" barrels... that's a big difference.
  23. I've never heard that about transfers, it must have been a special case or not normal situation. One big point about sending the kid to community college for the first two years (which definitely should be done), the kid needs to actually graduate with a AA from the community college. The reason getting the degree is important versus just taking classes is, in NJ if the kid has a AA degree, EVERY credit transfers to the four year school, no matter what. The classes don't even need to match up, there was a law signed in NJ years ago that said four year schools MUST accept ALL credits if the kid received a degree. Knowing this will save you dudes or the kids thousands of dollars, and save the kid from paying for and re-taking classes he already took in community college.
  24. Thank you, exactly right. Someone else in this thread doesn't understand how positive pressure in an attic can affect the rest of the house. When you vent out, cooler air gets pulled from the soffits and vents out though the gable. This follows normal natural convection patterns with hot/cold air.
