  1. GOVERNOR MURPHY ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF GUN CRIME PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN March 12, 2019. Today, Governor Murphy announced the expansion of a gun crime propaganda campaign begun by his administration nearly one year ago. In addition to monthly and quarterly publication of New Jersey gun crime data (circumventing federal restrictions banning the release of gun trace data), the Murphy administration will now also be including data identifying the manufacturers of recovered firearms. Reporting such data falsely implies that legal, highly-regulated manufacturers are somehow responsible for the actions of those who unlawfully acquire and misuse their products -- like holding car manufacturers responsible for the theft and criminal misuse of their cars. In addition to attempting to "name and shame" gun manufacturers who have done nothing wrong, the propaganda campaign also appears intended to coerce gun manufacturers into adopting and following various demands of anti-gun advocates. The move appears to be part of a larger regional effort by Murphy's coalition of anti-gun states to manipulate data for the purpose of influencing public policy not only in New Jersey but in other states as well. Unfortunately, the reporting by the Murphy administration would be entirely one-sided, and would completely ignore reporting of the hundreds of thousands of times each year nationwide that the mere presence of a legal firearm stops crime, often without a shot fired. Governor Murphy also took the opportunity to renew his call to the legislature to punish law-abiding gun owners for the acts of criminals and madmen with higher gun permits and fees.
  2. It's not the motor itself that's the issue, it's all the electronics surrounding it. Computers/technology screwup way more frequently than mechanical parts. When was the last time you heard someone breaking a connecting rod, losing a main bearing or bending a valve? It's usually the sensors/electrical parts that mess up. Then add tons more into a Tesla, what's that a recipe for?
  3. Should be interesting to watch fishing and camping equipment sales this Spring, to see if that trend continues. ----------------- ...." However, hunters weren’t so keen on the retailer during the quarter, with guns, ammunition, firearm accessories and hunting apparel declining. According to Stack, the hunting and electronics categories hurt same-store sales by 3%. The company also removed the entire hunting category from 10 stores late in the third quarter where it was underperforming, according to Stack, “and replaced it with a more compelling assortment.” Dick’s Sporting Goods is planning to pull the category from 125 additional stores. Neil Saunders, managing director at GlobalData Retail, has two concerns about the shift in Dick’s Sporting Goods’ business. “Our data show that a lot of hunters and gun enthusiasts have migrated to retailers like Bass Pro and to smaller specialists,” he wrote in a note. “At the same time, Dick’s Sporting Goods has not benefited from an upswing in trade among those who agree with its gun policy.” https://www.marketwatch.com/story/dicks-sporting-goods-results-hurt-by-under-armour-and-the-hunting-category-2019-03-12?mod=mw_theo_homepage That's what happens when a mass retailer wants to play politics.
  4. How many people got incinerated due to Autopilot malfunction or got beheaded? Oh, none...
  5. Ahhh, yes. That reliable computer..... A Tesla Model S owner crashed his vehicle into a river near a Supercharger station in China and he claims that the vehicle accelerated on its own – in yet another alleged event of unintended acceleration. Xiao Chen was pulling into the Supercharger station when he claims that his Model S accelerated out of control. The Model S ended up going through a fence and plunging in the river. Tesla and Unintended Acceleration Events Tesla vehicles have been involved in several unintended acceleration events, which consists of vehicles accelerating without it being the driver’s intention – whether it is due to malfunction or driver error. https://electrek.co/2019/03/10/tesla-crash-river-claim-unintended-accelerated/
  6. That dude is a total fanboy, like you. If you can't see that, you didn't read his article. Here's proof from that article: A quick scan of the top 10 cars repairs of 2015 is telling. Only one of these faults can happen to an electric vehicle (number 4, and it is by far the cheapest to fix). I've been driving like 4 decades, I've never had to do the majority of those repairs to any of my cars or wifey's cars with the multiple cars we've owned. I changed a thermostat once. Try again. I just rolled through 60K miles on my truck. Besides oil and filter changes, I haven't spent a nickle on repairs on my ICE vehicle like he claims. I just did the first brakes and tires on it, which you have to do on EV's too, so that's a wash. For anyone to claim Tesla's are more reliable then ICE cars today (with all their technology) is just MORE fanboy stuff.
  7. Amazing how fanboys totally misrepresent the issue. You're saving $100 a month. Sure, your charging bill might be lower then your gas bill, but you paid TENS of thousands more dollars to BUY the Tesla versus a ICE car. Any idea how much gas $20,000 can buy? Should only take you 200 months to break even ( 16 years). You'll be paying another $10K for batteries long before you reach that point. It certainly is.
  8. Why? Is that like carrying a spare gas can in the back of your truck?
  9. Here's the governor's justification for the new law, you can't make this stuff up: “They reduce the rate of women killed by an intimate partner, they reduce suicide rates, they reduce the rate of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty – they save lives,” Lujan Grisham wrote on Twitter. Gun control advocates and the legislation's supporters said it will close a loophole in the state law and keep weapons away from dangerous people. -------------------- Twenty-five officials in the state’s 33 counties adopted “Second Amendment Sanctuary” declarations this week, The Santa Fe New Mexican reported. The declarations say the counties effectively will refuse to enforce the law. https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/433340-new-mexico-governor-signs-law-requiring-background-checks-for-almost-all Interesting, from another forum I read, there's a member who has lived in N.M. for decades, this is what she's hearing/seeing: ...."I live in New Mexico, there is a massive citizen response taking place here, we are up to 26 counties that have passed the Sanctuary 2A Resolution, we expect 4 more counties to pass the resolution during their regular monthly meetings, leaving 3 counties that are expected to support the new law. Right now there are tons of our State citizens putting together a petition that once it reaches a percentage of the registered voters will work to suspend the new law from being implemented. Our Sheriffs take their vows to heart, they have said they will not enforce it under any circumstances. Right now, many towns who have small LE/Police departments are also passing the resolution, getting in line with the Sheriffs. This battle is far from over but We the People are making headway. There is another resolution being drafted that will in essence be a declaration from each county to expel the NM State Police from their county, force closure of the State Police offices. We do have laws that give us the power to do these things, people are working hard to close all the doors to our State Government in the counties and towns." And a second member posted this: ...."The vote among the sheriffs is lining up pretty much rural vs urban here in New Mexico... The counties that contain the biggest population centers, Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Dona Ana are pretty much staying out of this. The sheriff in Bernalillo county (Albuquerque) has said that he has "concerns about the constitutionality" of this, but has stated he is bound to uphold the law. The thing that I find fascinating about this debate is how "out in the open" the sheriffs have been in their denunciation of the law. Just last week, one called local talk radio and said "Everyone knows where this goes. Next year, maybe the year after,, state government will come around andsay that this law is unenforceable (it is), and that we need a registry. Whether that registry is state or national remains to be seen". I've been in New Mexico for 26 years, and I cannot remember another time when any of the sheriffs were this vocal. The fact that they are on this issue tells me that something is blowing in the wind at the state (or national) level." I wonder if @PK90, since he's nearby, has heard any additional scuttlebutt.
  10. The Democrat governor in N.M. just signed a new gun bill requiring background checks on all sales, including face to face, just like our friend Murphy signed last year. This Anti-2A "creep" is taking hold in more and more states. Luckily, many N.M. Sheriffs are saying they won't uphold it. New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) signed legislation Friday to criminalize private gun sales in the state. The Santa Fe New Mexican reported that there has been a great divide over the bill, with state-level Democrats pushing it while gun rights groups, the vast majority of New Mexico Sheriffs, and New Mexico county governments oppose it. On March 2, Breitbart News reported that 21 of New Mexico’s 33 counties had declared themselves “Second Amendment Sanctuaries,” to indicate they would not be enforcing the gun control. Moreover, on February 10, Breitbart News reported that 29 of New Mexico’s 33 sheriffs signed a statement against the gun control. And the New Mexico Sheriff’s Association also made clear it planned to sue the state if the new gun control was enacted. Grisham ignored the sheriffs’ concerns, tweeting, “A few law enforcement officers in this state have been making noise about how they won’t enforce gun safety measures because they don’t like them. That’s not how laws work, of course, and it’s not how oaths of office work either.” https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/03/09/new-mexicos-democrat-governor-signs-bill-to-criminalize-private-gun-sales/ Wow... "not how oaths of office work"... Did she really tweet that? Did she forget the oath SHE took? The Socialists are coming, are you ready?
  11. Certainly sounds like you want people to believe they never fail. Fanboys don't remember what they post. Yep, and if they were as reliable as you claim, I shouldn't have received any results. As it were, there are pages of big issues, and it's a new vehicle. When each day, there are hundreds of people commenting on issues for a technology that's been out for 10 years (as you claim), then yes, being able to open your door, not getting updates, cold weather battery ranges, cost of battery packs are issues for some people. And that's just the first page.
  12. The PDs are going all electronic like in the OP, some fast than others. You'll need to check with your local PD to see if they're up to speed. The PD web site may not be updated yet. Like I mentioned above, I did a new P2P online, and when I went to submit the manual 066 form, they said they weren't doing it all online yet, and I had to submit manual. Upon pushing, they found a clerk who is going to process the new way. I was the first one to ask in town. PDs seem to be changing/accepting based on new activity and who's applying.
  13. Do all of them have as many computer and technical issues like Tesla? https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=znOEXJihDsSZ_Qarv5TgDg&q=tesla+computer+malfunction&oq=tesla+computer+mal&gs_l=psy-ab.1.0.33i160l2.178716.185840..189204...0.0..0.104.1365.17j1......0....1..gws-wiz.....0..0j0i131j0i3j0i22i30j0i22i10i30.dUpKovvheWc https://www.cheatsheet.com/money-career/the-biggest-problems-tesla-model-3-owners-have-reported.html/ Wow, the list of issues at the link below is mind blowing" https://forums.tesla.com/forum/267
  14. Never owned a drill, saw, washer, dryer, fan, pump or furnace, have you?
  15. The bottom line, if the PD has the ability to receive the criminal records check electronically, they should be able to receive the application the same way. They both come from the State Police. You'll know if your PD is online by the first page. If you enter the ORI number and the PD pops up, it means they can accept electronic forms. The only reason they might not be, is because they're lazy and it's new, and no one has put in the effort to understand how they'll process. This is what I experienced so far with my PD. I'm the first one they're processing electronically (kicking and screaming). Sometimes people need a "shove" to enter the 21st century with technology.
  16. That second part is way more important than the first part. Check your fire extinguishers too.
  17. You're forgetting.. we won big in 2016 with a Republican President and Congress. How did that work out for us the past two years? Enjoying your national reciprocity that the House voted on but the Repub Senate refused? How about getting your 30 round mags back? Oops... Thinking that NEXT time will be the ticket is the definition of Insanity, doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. Nothing will come from the voting booth in the future, that ship has sailed. If you want your freedoms back, it's going to have to come from OURS hands this time. And that's why you're not going to see it change.
  18. Ha ha.. Busted... I wondered why they didn't ask you in the first place. Plus, they want you to sign it in front of them so they could witness it. Did they take the form without seeing you sign it?
  19. The size of the system you can get is based on your annual usage, you can't just fill your roof with panels. The new system output has to match your yearly usage, no more. Excess electricity you produce/don't use gets "sold" back to the power company. Stay away from leases, they are tweaked to make them sound good (lower payment than your current electric bill) but you'll pay way to much for the system overall. Plus, some leases are tough to transfer if you sell the house. No guarantee the next owner will assume those payments. Buy the system outright, ROI is better, and you own it. It won't degrade your roof, the panels are mounted to allow for air flow. Many people consider panels ugly, so if they're on the front of your house, that can be an issue. Also, keep in mind, you are never getting power to your house from the panels, they are tied to the grid through your inverter. During a power outage, your house will be as dark as your neighbors, who doesn't have solar. If having power when the grid goes down is important, it requires a special inverter and a battery bank.
  20. What comes up in a trip planner and what happens in reality are two different animals. What happens if those chargers are being used by other people or are broken? You going to push the car the rest of the way, or just hope it's all down hill?
  21. I think that is part of it. I just put in for 3 more permits, not because I needed something specific, but figured why not, it might just get more difficult in the future. So, now it's time to decide what to get and not duplicate what I have.
  22. That's true. I saw that same thing with Ruger coming out with lower end handguns to try a capture more of the market. Problem is, you never make up the lost margin with volume. Tesla is going to find that out really soon.
