NJ to Connecticut

Hello.

I have my NJ FID as well as several pistols. I'm most likely moving to CT, so wondering what the process is for obtaining a CT FID (or equivalent). I've looked and see that there are both "local" and "state" permits that are necessary. Wondering if anyone knows exactly what the process is for getting my license and then do i need to register my firearms?

I'm not sure if there is a CT "FID" card in use.  Although CT is a "may issue" state, if you meet the requirements, they will issue you a permit to carry.  The link below has the details.  If you served in the military or are retired military, they will waive certain training requirements.  From experience, I will say, when getting your finger prints done, make sure the person doing them knows what they are doing.  Best of luck to you!
