AntZ 1 Posted June 25, 2009 which is better? I can't see how to adjust elevation from looking at the pictures of both.
AntZ 1 Posted June 26, 2009 While we are waiting for the votes, anyone want to comment on the sights?
Cylinder Head 22 Posted June 26, 2009 I have the Troy, it's sturdy and very well built, but I have to say the irons that came with my M1A were significantly better. I guess that's why they call them "Back Up" Iron Sights.
Lublin 3 Posted June 26, 2009 I have the GG&G spring loaded A2 BUIS. It's solid and seems bullet proof. I also have the bolt on gas block flip up front sight. It's equally great.
ChrisFry 8 Posted June 26, 2009 I run the GG&G BUIS and have for about 4 yrs now. They are very solid and easy to work with.

Lublin 3 Posted June 27, 2009 With the GG&G products, your elevation is adjusted on your FSB, your windage is adjusted on your BUIS.
ChrisFry 8 Posted June 27, 2009 I run the GG&G BUIS and have for about 4 yrs now. They are very solid and easy to work with. How do you adjust for different distances? There is a lot of good info here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=328143&page=6 The rear sight has 2 aperatures- a 0-2 (large) aperature for short range 0-200 meters and an unmarked aperature (small) for 300-800 meters. On my GG&G I utilize the knob on the right side of the sight to adjust windage and then adjust the front sight for elevation since there is no elevation drum on this BUIS. AntZ 1 Posted June 27, 2009 since there is no elevation drum on this BUIS I wish there were a BUIS had elevation drum so I can adjust for different distances within a second. I guess that is one of the reasons that they are called "Backup".
