Went and applied for 7 more pistol permits.... roughly all of the handguns on my wish list... for now +/- 1.

 

Let the timeclock begin. spent my $14. My detective was quite nice, and no grief at all. asked him about one gun a month, and he had not heard yet anything from the state police about it. and yes, he looked dissapointed that it passed.

I did mine as well. Picked up my FID and (1) P2P on monday and applied for (2) more permits right then and there. The clerk was a bit confused so I mentioned the one permit/month battle that was going on and she too hadnt heard of it.

 

She was very nice and said since I was just picking up my FID that they wouldnt have to go much work at all and I should have my two more permits in a week.

I know.... and even if you get alot of permits, doesnt mean you will use them all.

 

I just hate being without the right to buy something if a good deal comes up.

Just got a call today letting me know I can pick them up today. there was a delay as the chief was on vacation... but here it is, 20 days later. got my 7 permits. just have to pick them up tomorrow.

Surprisingly enough I still havent heard back about my additional (2) that I put in for the day I picked up my original (1) and FID. Good thing I saw this thread...now I will have to call tomorrow and see how we are doing with them.

well I just went in and applied for 3 today. The lady said don't expect anything for 6 weeks, and thats being generous. In West Milford she said they are getting swamped everyday with applications. She said, as soon as the word about this whole one gun a month thing came out, it was like a stampede down to the PD. I believe the limit is 6 at a time in WM and she said theres a guy who is somewhat of a collector. He comes in, applies for the 6, as soon as they come in, the same day he applies for 6 more. I gotta meet this guy

 

So start the clock, July 21, 2009 lets see how long it takes

I dont know how they can go on about limiting the number of permits you can apply for. if they insist on 6... ask them where it is. or just come back next day for 6 more.

you know, it's probably so rare someone is going to be buying that many handguns that quickly that its probably not really an issue. But if I ever got to a point where it would affect me, I'd be more than happy to make a point about it
