Filing to get my permints extended

My 2 remaining handgun permits will expire the first of September. As I have had a car break down and spent my gun money on a downpayment for a new car I want to have my permits extended. Any links to the paperwork or any info would be much appreciated.

AFAIK there is no paperwork required to fill out, just go to the police department that issued your permits and ask the firearms officer to have them extended for another 90 days.

Agree with Chad. I called my P.D., Freehold Twp ID officer. He told me just bring them in and tell the girls that I am waiting on guns to come in. they typed over the initial issue date and in the box righgt next to it, typed in the date to give me 3 more months from that day.

If you want the max amount of time go a week before they expire. They will give you 90 days from the renewal date.

just cross out the exp date add a new one and initial it.

Except when a copy gets sent to the issuing PD and sees falsification of government documents and forgery.

e-mailed the Chief in my town got back to me very quickly said just bring them in a week before they expire he'll initial them. Easy enough.

Same here in Hamilton i went in to the PD a week before the date on the permit and the girl just typed in a new date and initialed it took 2 mins.
