NJ Lt Gov Sheila Oliver Dies at 71

Recommended Posts

The speculation is endless, but I’m of the opinion that the public doesn’t have a right to know cause of death. Doesn’t matter if the deceased was a public figure or not. The right to privacy doesn’t end with death.

Families leave it out of obituaries more often than not.  Good for them.

Needless to say were she and Murphy republicans the media would damn well find out and publicize the cause of death and anything else they could dig up about her medical history if they thought it would be politically damaging.

They'd also have lots of questions why the governor left someone with her illness in charge while he is overseas on an extended vacation.

I fundamentally agree with you but if you're a public figure you give up a lot of that privacy.
