Scottcba1 8 Posted August 7, 2009 My buddy rented, I believe it was, the AR15. Looked just like his m16 from the when he was in the army. I believe they charged $50 for the gun rental and the ammo was a bit more then a handgun but if that is what your looking too shoot then you can at BA. Man was that gun accurate! I liked it a lot. I never shot anything like that before so I was expecting a big recoil but it handled very nicely and didnt move much at all. -Scott
Maksim 1,504 Posted August 7, 2009 223 is really not a bad round for recoil at all. =) those 308's now.... whole different story.
bbk 188 Posted August 7, 2009 AR's have a light recoil because of the streamlining of the design, as well as the emphasis put on the buffer tube/spring (IMO). If you get the chance to shoot a carbine stock vs A2 stock, you'll notice a significant difference (you could fire an A2 stock rifle from the bridge of your nose, not that I'd recommend it). As for 308s, definitely a bit more of a kick-- but I like it.
Wolfy 51 Posted August 7, 2009 Recoil on a 308 is not bad I liked trouts CETME and really liked tinys PTR91. Tiny please tell me I got the name right? I may not be sure of the spelling but I love that rifle.
GoNRA 12 Posted August 16, 2009 I asked if they rented AR-15's. but they told me not at the moment...
Scottcba1 8 Posted August 16, 2009 Wow I wonder when that changed???? Maybe just needs to get cleaned or something. Maybe WSL will know better for us. -Scott
