I avoid this by keep $1000 in my checking. I consider that "0" and I get nervous if it dips below.

 

The other thing that banks really piss me off with is the deposit lag. I deposit a check on Monday, i'm lucky if the funds are available by Friday. I write a check on Monday, the funds are gone by midnight.
