Cylinder Head 22 Posted August 24, 2009 Anybody have one of these? Can't see why it wouldn't be legal here, no pistol grip, static stock and a flash hider. I'm leaning towards one for the home and wanted to get some details from actual owners. From what I understand the trigger is ridiculously heavy (12lbs) and the plastic trigger group has had its issues. I want an excuse to put an Eotech on something. Cylinder Head 22 Posted August 24, 2009 Thanks for the help gents. PK90 you block 5.56/.223 mags down to 15 correct? Can you block 30 rounders down to 15? I hate the look of shorter mags on AR's, or anything that takes an AR mag for that matter.
PK90 3,570 Posted August 25, 2009 Sorry. Won't do it. Too much unnecessary attention.

totalabuse 27 Posted September 15, 2009 I felt it awkward and uncomfortable to hold. The front grip is weird and the but plate is too wide. It is very well balanced though. Oh yeah, the sights suck.

I think your mistaking it for the PS90 which fire the 5.7 x 28mm. The FS2000 fires the .
Cylinder Head 22 Posted September 15, 2009 After much consideration I'm going to go for an AR. Just too many things you can do to them. For the money I can get something custom with a Noveske barrel and a gisselle trigger.

Not really that limited if you think about it. Yes the laws are arcane but they're passable for me (except the 15 round rule, absolutely despise that). I wouldn't want an SBR, it's just not my thing and I wouldn't want to lose the velocity that a 16" barrel affords with a 5.56. Yes the stock has to be pinned, which is fine for me. Find the right length, pin it, done. LOP on most stocks (especially the ones I'm looking at) is 3.5". Not that huge of a variance. Muzzle brake has to be pinned? Fine, I was going to get a PWS FSC556 which is both a flash hider and a comp anyway (most importantly considered a comp or "brake" by the government, documented). Not to mention, if I ever move, I can just get new furniture and sell the Jersey-specific stuff to someone here. For the same money as the FS2000 I can get a more accurate, more reliable rifle that maintains parts compatibility with 90% of the black rifles in the country. And I can customize the snot out of it. bbk 188 Posted September 22, 2009 If you really want an AR, and you really want a certain setup, it can always be modified some to be made compliant in NJ. Ask Caine, he has a gorgeous Daniel Defense AR that was ADCO'd (feel free to step in). You can always get any AR of your choosing, and find a gunsmith to permanently attach the compensator, cut off the bayo lug, permanently restrict the stock from moving, etc. It'll cost a bit more, and may require some finesse between you and your FFL and gunsmith, but it can be done if that's what you really want. As for Colts, they do have NJ-legal Colts that I know for a fact are sold in NJ (I inquired, and received info from our great vendors here). Only "damage" would be welding the comp to a nice Noveske barrel. Pinning the stock? Oh well, I can always attach another one. AR's are modular. Leave NJ and the cuffs come off.
