I do find her grip to be a bit strange.... Is that to compensate for smaller hands, or is it a "speed/target" type grip?

What's strange about it? It's a typical high contact thumbs forward grip.

I guess I'm not that versed in grip types. Showing my noob-ness. Still it looks like her right thumb is back over the ball of her left thumb.. shouldn't it be tucked in a bit more or would that cause problems?

Not everyone agrees with it and most people that overlap their thumbs find this grip to be uncomfortable. I'm the opposite... I find having my thumbs wrapped to be very uncomfortable, so I shoot thumbs forward, with my support hand very high on the side of the gun with the meaty part of my palm practically touching the slide.

Everyone's different tho.. I know plenty of guys that overlap their thumbs and shoot a hell of lot better than me.
