IDPA Classifier Match - 1/16/11

Recommended Posts

Practice, man - it all comes with practice.

Speaking of which, are there ranges that allow you to draw from holster?

Also I keep telling myself to slow down(not that I'm exceptionally quick or anything) but once I hear that timer beep I forget all of that

If you're on the sides at Bayonne they probably will allow you to. I was told once that they didn't allow it, but if you're on the sides and it's late and they're not watching, have at it :)

Also I think they do allow it at SCFGPA depending on the situation - Glenn/j0n/MrP or another member will have to confirm that.

Best thing you can do is dry fire. Of course with NO AMMO! Practice holstering and unholstering a d pick a spot on a wall or an object. When you go to the range, practice your accuracy and speed. Speeding up while remaking on target. Do some research and you'll get more information that can help you.

+1 for all the vids Nick

now, to bookmark mrp's video and study it so I can get on his level..

Rofl, it's easy! Just waste time you should be studying for finals practicing your draws/reloads. Oh and get extremely lucky, that works wonders for me. On a more serious note, I try to be as accurate as possible in practice and then speed up a bit during matches. I've found a great wealth of information at BrianEnos.com, also.

I realized yesterday that I am forming a sort of addiction to IDPA. Next month my GF and I are going to a concert that I bought her tickets for as a christmas present. It's about 2.5 hrs from the town we both live in (both of us still live at our parents homes at the moment), and should end around midnight. I find myself hoping that she DOESN'T want to get a hotel room and spend the night, since I probably won't be able to make it to IDPA the next day on time...

Oh lord.
