Looking for smith to attach muzzle brake

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a gunsmith to permanently attach a brake to my Sig556 SCM. I'd imagine the barrel would need to be threaded, brake attached and timed, then pinned and welded. Not that I really need one, doing it more for cosmetics.

A local shop near me wants ~$150. I'd like to call around to see what other competent gunsmiths are charging, anyone have ideas on whom I should check out?

Also, any recommendations on muzzle brakes are welcome. I'm thinking of these two:

That phantom looks pretty nice, good price also. Thats a contender.

I was thinking the JP might be too big looking on the 16" 556. Do you have a pic of it installed on your 20" AR?

Nice toys. Thanks for the pics.

I think the JP will be too large for the thinnesh barrel of the Sig SCM. Looks fantastic on the 20" HB. I"ll keep it in mind for my stainless HB 16" AR which will be up next for this treatment.

I love the diamond barrel treatment on your customized M4.
