transporting airsoft gun question?

im curious as to the laws in nj about transporting airsoft pistols and rifles in a vehicles? are they similar or different to real pistols and rifle laws for example: do the magazines and weapon have to be in seperate locations like trunk and glove box, or in a locked box if its an suv or hatch back? i did an airsoft search on this forum and came up with nothing....

I follow the laws as if they are real firearms. You don't openly display them or have them within arms reach.

since they look very much like the real thing, you can still be charged with possession of a firearm.

e. Imitation firearms. Any person who has in his possession an imitation firearm under circumstances that would lead an observer to reasonably believe that it is possessed for an unlawful purpose is guilty of a crime of the fourth degree.

 

Like what krdshrk said, i would follow all laws and pretend you are transporting real firearms.

I would drive around with them and wave them at everyone. Just kidding.

 

Just keep everything in a trunk and if you are pulled over, if asked if you have any weapons, let the police officer know that you have "Toy airsoft pistols" and where they are.
