usnmars 136 Posted February 26, 2011 I just did this method to hide a locking screw on a part that I am building for a member here. I didn't want any movement so I drilled a hole and tapped it. Countersunk the top of the hole. Took a screw and annealed it, screwed it in, and smashed it down. I filed and sanded and WOW! you cant even tell where the screw that I put in is. Shocker 151 Posted February 28, 2011 I did something similar except with a set screw that was intentionally too long for the hole. Threaded in with high temp threadlocker, ground off the head and blued the exposed shaft. Same as your technique except you don't have to countersink the head, possibly a little less work.
