Memorial Day weekend tradition

Recommended Posts

I have an odd tradition that I do on memorial day weekend and figured I'd pass it on to yall. SHOOT AN AMERICAN MILSURP! Be it a Garand, 1903, GI 1911 or an AR. It gives you a greater appreciation for what the troops go through. I know it is kinda goofy, but it is what I do. Today I went out and shot my GI 1911's since I go back to work on Sunday so I miss most of the weekend. Also if you see one, THANK A VET!

That is a fantastic idea!

On memorial day I usually tell people that thank me for my service that "if you really want to thank me on memorial day you can donate to a charity that helps the families of my fallen brothers and sisters."

* I am only personally familiar with the first two charities I posted. When donating one should always read about the charity first and decide if it is going to do with your money what you intend it for.

Cheers to all that have fallen in the past, those that are falling in the present, and even to those that will take up the call and unfortunately fall in the future. It is these great men and woman's sacrifices that ensure that our great nation will carry on.
