matty 810 Posted June 29, 2011 So I ordered the TS200 for my Yugo SKS a few weeks back. Installation was simple, I managed to grab onto the receiver cover latch retaining pin with vise grips & got it out enough that I was able to drive it out all the way with a punch. So I managed to save the latch and pin if I ever decide to go back. Instructions were clear and easy to follow to mount and snug up the sight itself. It does stick out a bit, but wasn't a problem in actual use. The original rear sight removal was a minor annoyance, the instructions had a method that would probably work, but I ended up using a plastic rod & pushing on it & sliding it back and out. Another original part saved! Finally got to CJ last nite to sight it in. I brought it close at 50, and then used an SR1 target at 100 yd at GP range. First 5 were in the upper right , then corrected for elevation, 2nd 5 were off to the right & a flyer, then corrected windage & last 10 were all in or near black. Was using cheap Ulyanovsk whitebox ammo, a cheap NCStar sling, prone. Much easier to use than the original leaf type rears, the sight picture is a vast improvement. My front sight post was run almost all the way right with the old sight, so my rear ended up being adjusted about 3/4 of the way to the left. I didn't have my front sight windage tools (hammer & punch) with me, maybe I will re-center that at some point & redo it. The post itself is fine, I don't see a need personally to change it for the skinny one. Adjustment of the TS200 was a little work, you can't use a 7.62x39 bullet tip to move the adjusters. But I did have .223 with me for the SU-16 I was shooting also, and was able to use the cartridges as adjusting tools. I will have to shoot sitting & standing to see how the sight picture holds up, but so far I like it much better than the originals.
lunker 274 Posted June 29, 2011 I have peep sights on my SKS Paratrooper. I like them much better than the standard SKS/AK sights.
Old School 611 Posted June 29, 2011 Matty- 50 or 100 that's a pretty good target. 50yd is OK. 100yd is great. I have the SKS sight tool if you want to borrow it. It hurts me to use a punch!

That is a 100yd target, I was pretty happy with the last 10. Its about what I do with my M1 with milsurp ammo. I do use a punch & hammer, but _very_ gently I probably won't mess with it for a few weeks, even then I may just leave it till the winter tear-down
