Pickup Truck tansporting question

Beating a dead horse here, but...

 

I have a regular cab shortbed F150, without a cap or anything like that. PRNJ doctrine calls for long guns to be transported in a secured case when the vehicle does not have a trunk... with that said, can I gunsock rifles and hang them in a window mount gun rack, legally? I emailed the NJSP on it but did not hear a reply yet. I enjoy not being in jail so I read first.

Just to clairify... Gunsock=in the clear? so gunsock+gunrack=perfectly in the clear?

Personally I wouldn't invite the added attention, even of it good to go, you know people in NJ will report someone in a pickum-up truck with weapons looking strange and we don't like there looks. Until NJ is like the other states that this is normal I'd avoid the hassle.

Legal.. YES... but even with the police aspect aside.. why advertise you might have guns in the car.. I have always found it a better policy to NOT advertise what I might be transporting..
