Which gun shops in the northern new jersey part of the state will work with you on a trade?

 

I would like to trade in one handgun for another. A bit nervous about the idea of selling the gun privately.

 

Which gun shop would be good to deal with and would not take too much advantage.

This is not a knock on private shops, but remember that they want to make money on your trade. A private sale will come much closer to you getting your money's worth, although how long it takes to sell will depend on your pricing and the popularity and condition of the gun you are selling. In case you were not aware, when you sell a handgun you mail copies of the buyer's permits to the state police and to the issuing police department, and you keep a copy. There is plenty of paperwork around to prove that you no longer own the firearm. I say this in case you are worried about somehow still being tied to your gun after you no longer own it.
