le_boudin 2 Posted April 24, 2012 I'm selling one of my handguns to PA. The guy from PA told me just to send the gun directly to his FFL. I would highly appreciate if somebody can enlighten me what to do thank you in advance!
RecessedFilter 222 Posted April 24, 2012 You can send it to his FFL and they will transfer it to him, or I believe you can drive it to PA and meet him at an FFL and you can transfer it to him there.
JETagent 1 Posted April 24, 2012 Yep, send it directly to his FFL. Must be overnight air w/UPS and no markings disclosing what it is on the outside. No USPS. I forget fedex's rule if they allow handguns but if they allow it its similar to UPS. Stick a copy of your drivers license in with the gun for the FFL (FID not required). I believe adult signature option is required as well (havent sent a handgun in awhile). It may be cheaper to just drive it there depending how far it is, UPS is going to be $50-60 by the time you are done with it.
le_boudin 2 Posted April 24, 2012 thank you gents!!! so I do not need to retain some kind of a proof that I've sold my gun? like when you sell a gun NJ-to-NJ you have to keep a blue copy of a byers "permit to buy" and then send the rest to the state police and a byers precinct? RecessedFilter 222 Posted April 24, 2012 Just ask that the FFL makes you a copy of the receipt/transfer, that's all.
CageFighter 236 Posted April 24, 2012 yeah, good luck trying to get copies from Cabelas. I had to piss & moan to get some paperworks of the transfer. Otherwise, they just tell u its in their system. -wtf!
