It depends - As a retired officer are you carrying under the authority of HR218 LEOSA? Or do you have a NJ RPO Permit?
The restrictions on ammo type for civilians has not changed to allow for hollowpoint ammo with the grating of a CCW permit.
Sorry to ask, but I cant get a straight answer. I am a retired LEO and am or was restricted to Hornady critical defense type ammo, basically a hollow point with a rubber plug in it. Since NJ is now allowing concealed carry, did the ammo type change? For example can I now carry say federal HST ammo or equivalent? (basically hollow point ammo)? I know under Federal HR 318 we could have, but in NJ I dont want to be the test case for this. Thanks in advance. Even a link to read would be great.
