Impeach Cuomo -- Please Pass on to NY Friends & Family

Recommended Posts

These "impeach him" petitions might make people feel good but that's about all they will accomplish.

First, you need specific articles of impeachment to charge him with. There may be some.

Second, you need him to be impeached by an Assembly that voted for his stupid new gun law. This is unlikely as the Assembly passed this law. If impeached, that only charges him.

Third, you need a Senate to find him guilty so he can be removed from office. The Senate voted for this law by about a 2/3 majority. Hardly likely they'll find him guilty.

Better to expend energy getting this law in Federal courts as there are clearly 2A issues and some parts of the law in conflict with SCOTUS decisions (as I see it).

+1. Either that, or try to get photos of him with hookers and crack.

The law they pushed is ridiculous, but they did it through the proper procedure. No grounds for impeachment.

I have a feeling one day he is going to crash and burn in a Lance Armstrong kinda way. People that steam roll everyone in their way for their own agenda are usually so full of themselves that they think they can get away with anything, this usually leads to them embarrassing themselves in grand fashion. Corzine anyone?

No they didn't. They did not follow the ny constitution when they ignored the mandatory wait to vote do that it could be debated and the public would have time to comment.

In the assembly, it was 104 for the bill, 43 against for the bill. NY has a total of 150 assemblymen, which means 3 didn't vote for or against the bill.

You need a house majority for impeachment, which would be 76 assemblymen.

Even if all 43 plus the 3 that didn't vote(saying they are pro-gun, which they may not be), voted to impeach him, that simply isn't enough. I highly doubt you could swing 30 people who voted for gun control to suddenly change sides and go after the Governor.

I agree. Maybe his head will explode when he's yelling something like "you don't need 10 bullets to kill a deer". His speaking style deserves some comment also. Yes in public speaking you raise the inflection in your voice to make a point. Look at great speakers like JFK and Reagan. The only people who yell like Cuomo did in a speech are.. well...people like Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, and that ilk.

Just saying.
