FTF firearms transaction in NJ?

Recommended Posts

I found a buyer for a firearm I was selling online and the person happens to be in NJ and local. I neve did a face to face sale before. Do I just have to make sure they have a NJFID? Would it be smarter to just go through a dealer anyway?

You need a matching DL to the FID, Permit to Purchase a Pistol (if its a pistol in the first place), Certificate of Eligibility and a good spot to meet. If they don't have any of the above, pack up and leave. Tell the buyer you're not doing an illegal transfer and just leave.

What would the Certificate of Eligibility be?
