dtown223 12 Posted January 20, 2013 Since I can't shoot buckshot @ CR, I'll be function testing the new shotgun @ the bullet hole tomorrow morning. Website says they open 10am-is it best to show up early and wait? Is it usually crowded weekday mornings? Don't know, hope I don't end up regretting it, many mixed reviews
Tango Charlie 0 Posted January 20, 2013 I'm planning on going to the Bullethole as well. Anyway, something to keep in mind is that tomorrow is MLK Jr. Day so there might be more people there. Especially when Obama is being reinaugurated...
dtown223 12 Posted January 20, 2013 Thanks, I'm thinking that everyone else who had off tomorrow too may have the same idea.. Maybe I'll just pickup some slugs and go freeze my buns off at cherry ridge
johnp 45 Posted January 20, 2013 It's usually not crowded on weekday mornings.
Tango Charlie 0 Posted January 20, 2013 Want to know something ironic? I picked up a Remington 870 and I haven't had the chance to test it out. I also thought of going to the Bullethole to test out my shotgun.
Blacksmythe 71 Posted January 20, 2013 I thought the inauguration was today? Its nice on weekdays early and at about 6pm to 8pm tomorrow is MLK Jr day so I would expect people.
Bully 749 Posted January 21, 2013 I'll be there at 10. Say hello if you go. I'll be in the green sweatshirt. C
Tango Charlie 0 Posted January 21, 2013 @Blacksmythe, you could be right. I thought the inauguration was on 1/21. I could be wrong. @Topher, I should be there around 10. It would be good to do some meet and greet with other forum members besides at the rally.
TOMP40 0 Posted January 21, 2013 The Inauguration cermemony, parade and balls all happen tomorrow 1/21. The official Oath of office was done today 1/20.

Walt of Destiny 412 Posted January 21, 2013 Funny how the antis said the having national gun day Saturday was too soon after, but all the lefty Hollywood types can go party all they want 2 days later with nary a peep. My skin crawls.
Bully 749 Posted January 21, 2013 DTown, Nice to meet you. Thanks for letting me in on the shotty. Tango Charlie, nice to meet you as well. Good times at the BH today. No extra holes in me, so I think we did well. Met up with Requiem-n-Jaded and watched him break in his new piece. So very cool. Thanks for letting me put some rounds down range. REQUIEMnJADED4U 0 Posted January 21, 2013 Thanks again Topher for being a huge help. You're more than welcome to shoot anything I have. It was really nice to meet you dtown and Tango Charlie. Watching dtown shoot the shotgun makes me want to get one next since I don't have any P2P's at the time.

Tango Charlie 0 Posted January 21, 2013 DTown, were you at the port right next to me on my right? I'm sorry that I wasn't that much of a conversationalist. I was a bit perturbed by how crowded the range was and how I was bumping into people.

Bully 749 Posted January 21, 2013 @Topher- thanks ALOT for infecting me with the 1911 bug! Anytime. FWIW, I think I may have finally figured out why my gun isn't running right. 5500 rounds worth of built up gunk under the extractor claw. Smells good, tastes great. She's clean now. Tango Charlie 0 Posted January 21, 2013 So what kind of shotgun were you function testing DTown? I tested out my Remington 870, which I bought used. It wasn't cleaned and maintained properly from the previous owner that I bought it from. I'm glad that it functioned flawlessly. The NJGF targets are great. They helped pinpoint the errors in my shooting form. Now I know what to work on.

Now that it's been tested it'll takeover the HD role from my glock
Tango Charlie 0 Posted January 21, 2013 That's a sweet shotgun. Did you put in the flashlight mount yourself?
dtown223 12 Posted January 21, 2013 That's a sweet shotgun. Did you put in the flashlight mount yourself? Thanks, the flashlight is mounted to a picatinny rail, which is mounted to a magpul 870 forend. I'll have to admit, I'm a bit of a magpul fanboy, and this was an economical way to get a light on the shotty. Plus, I'm not gonna lie I just think it looks COOL lol

C Good to know it wasn't any other than something that just needed to be cleaned. @dtown and @Tango Charlie I'm left handed and am skeptical of getting a standard shotgun intended for a right handed person. I know that Remington 870 does come in lefty but I also came across the Browning BPS line and other over/under types that are lefty friendly. Should I not bother with one of those as a standard shotgun would suffice? Thanks in advance
