RHS 0 Posted February 15, 2013 I'm buying some 22 and present my FID: Q - What's the purpose of the little binder where my info is recorded. A - Obviously to record the transaction. Who sees it? Why? When? I understand firearm records and that 22 is a handgun round . Are the records packed up periodically and sent off for analysis? In PA just take the box to the register. I guess it's just a NJ thing. Or maybe there's a better answer???
tj462nj 32 Posted February 15, 2013 NJ records all ammo sales in a bound book which is inspected by the state pd during our audits.
ryan_j 0 Posted February 15, 2013 Some places keep electronic records instead of a bound book. If you don't want your purchases recorded buy your ammo out of state.

Vlad G 345 Posted February 15, 2013 This is the danger associated with "handgun ammo" logs and armor piercing rules. Everything is handgun ammo, because someone has chambered every rifle round in a handgun somewhere sometime.
