Thinking of Cerakoting my S&W Model 10

Recommended Posts

Got one from Buds awhile back to satisfy my "leave no pistol permit unused" belief... it's pretty beat up from years of holster use, while the barrel is in decent shape.

I was thinking of taking off the chipped wood grips, throwing Hogues on it, and cerakoting it into a new color.

How much would this cost to do? Are there any places in NJ that can do this at a reasonable price?

Thanks!

Cerakote can be a little pricey... usually $200+ for an entire handgun. Have you looked at parkerizing?

I believe Mastodon offers refinishing services.

Is it really that pricey? I wasn't looking so spend more than $100...

Call S&W and see what they can offer you. A friend recently sent over a beat up Model 19 and S&W offered him 2 types of service: 1) "matte black" finish or a 2) high polish blue. The first service was about $100, the high polish blue was >$200, but they re-polish all of the surface and give that classic gun a nice classic refinish.
