Shipping Primers

Recommended Posts

I wasn't able to find primers locally for the longest time, so I asked friends and family if they knew. No one could find any. Then without me knowing, someone on the other side of the country bought me a bunch of boxes. Only problem is they didn't have it shipped to me from the dealer. Apparently not only do you have to pay a hazmat fee, you have to be certified (trained) to package them before a carrier will accept them. Does anyone know how I can ship them? I thought UPS or Fedex would take them, but no. They only pick up from people with the HAZMAT training. Anybody know of private carriers that will box them up and ship them? Do their labels or whatever they have to do?

Thanks

Unfortunately the brass is here, primers out west. Way to many to ask some to prime for me especially considering he doesn't have the dies for all of them anyway. I have no problem paying the Hazmat fee. It's just that seems like most carriers won't accept the package from a private party. I thought that since there drivers would have Hazmat training maybe there pacaking department could (for a fee) pack 'em how they want and slap whatever labels they need on it and be done with it. But so far all I've been told is if you want primers order from somebody like Midway. There out anyway. Have limits when they do come in stock and also I all ready have these bought and paid for. Otherwise in the fall I may try to drive out there for a visit and bring them back here with me.
