Looking to purchase a .45 any suggestions??

I asked the same question.... Ended up picking up a RIA 1911 Tactical and shot about 100 rounds this weekend.  All is well and very happy with the purchase!  Thanks to the folks in here for sure with great suggestions.

I have a Smith 1911E TA and LOVE that gun. I looked at the PX4 and rented the FNX. Have not shot the PX4 yet but think I'm going to have a hard time deciding between them. The FNX was very comfortable and accurate out to 14 yds (max at the range).

 

Rent them all and then decide.

If you could find one the XD compact with 5 inch barrel is nice. Compact grip and extension on full size mag makes it either a full size gun or a carry. 13 +1 full mag 9 +1 compact. I have the XDM with 3.8 barrel and absolutely love it but really wanted the other due to longer barrel. XDM has a few upgrades that are nice. Recoil does not feel like a big .45 when shooting
