I'm 99% sure that guy was misclassified and should have been under ESP. He was in our squad and I recognize his name from score keeping.

 

Dave, thanks for that. I contacted Ken and he confirmed that the shooter in question circled the wrong division - should have been ESP. By that point everything had been sent out. No harm, no foul - I was just a little bummed as this was probably a personal best for me.

 

I want to make a correction to my statements about the new shooter policy at several match sites. The match director told me that he has no intention of doing away with the safety briefings. The rest is valid. If you are a new shooter, or if you are bringing a new shooter with you, it is always good to contact the MD prior to attending. The MD I spoke with told me he has a standard information packet he e-mails to new shooters that contact him.

Being a new shooter, I contacted Ken at EFGA for info on the IDPA match.

I just needed to send him a copy of the NRA Basic Pistol Safety course I had taken.
