Any other "singles" for Woodland Park tonight? (8/9)

I can't rent a gun there due to single w/o FFID status, so I thought I'd just check if there's anyone else in the same situation and maybe we can meet up. I've been going to RTSP, which is great place, but it's almost an extra hour of total travel time for me. Even if you aren't available tonight, I'd love to exchange contact info to try and set something up for the future. 

 

edit: Just to clarify, I don't need someone to provide me with a gun (though I definitely wouldn't mind!). It's about getting around their insurance company policy of not permitting them to rent to males without an FFID that show up alone.

Not really. I don't have any firearms of my own yet and still waiting on my FFID/permits, so I'll shoot anything. But since you mention it, I've been practicing with a Glock 19 and I'm interested in trying out their Springfield XD9 in comparison. Actually, I'm also dying to try out an S&W M&P9 and Steyr M9-A1 as well! I could have sworn I saw some sort of M&P up on on the Woodland Park wall when I was checking the place out, but I don't seem to see it listed on their available guns.

Why don't you pick up a couple boxes of shotgun shells and go down to the shotgun shootout in Clinton this weekend. Maybe not so much to shoot but rather to meet people from the forum and become better known. I'm sure some people might have some reservations about inviting some guy off the internet to the range to shoot guns with them, especially if that person doesn't have an FID.

I am in the same boat basically - still waiting for my FID, so was unable to rent at gun4hire.

I started a thread not a long ago - http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/58188-gun-ranges-in-northern-nj-that-rent-firearms-to-single-visitors/ - and got some advice on other ranges that don't have this policy. Maybe that will help, though they are pretty far from Clifton.

 

I'd be more than happy to go together, but I'm now abroad for business possibly until the end of August or even further, so unfortunately can't help really soon, but if it's still of your interest in September and later on (but hope you'll get your FID by that time if you've already started the process), I'd love to go together. BTW, I'm from Bloomfield.

I'd love to, but unfortunately I'm not going to be available Sunday. I'm definitely going to have to keep my eye out for more events like that. FID application is in process, so far I'm 2.5 weeks into it.

Thanks, I'll reach out in September. The firearms detective warned that FID applications were running a 4 month wait, so I'm guessing I'll still be in the same situation.
