pre ban rifle

Recommended Posts

Hello all. A friend of mine has a pre ban ar that he wants refurbished. Has been locked up for years and wants to start shooting it. I looked it over and it doesn't look too bad. But my concerns are that in order to referb it does he have to make it compliant. Thanks...

And can never be compliant in NJ no matter what you do to it.

Actually he can.

If it says AR-15 on it (which would likely be a Colt SP1) you can simply disassemble it and get sell the lower receiver in PA since we're in an amnesty period. Then buy a new lower receiver for $75, get rid of the evil bayonet lug and you're good to go.

I would be interested in the lower if its a Colt.

Thanks guys no its not a Colt lower its a E.A. its an old cast lower never see one before the company is out of KR Springs LA.... nothing marked on the lower saying ar15 just cal. 223 556 Mod j-15 from my research the model number j-15 is a cast lower the same number but followed by a (F) would indicate that it is a forged lower..... anyone see or know of this company? Thanks guys for all your input....

If it said AR and ou disposed of it in PA you aren't making the lower compliant you're getting rid of it.
