Contrvlr 17 Posted November 2, 2013 I am trying to install a ace skeleton stock on a s+w 15. I ordered the parts from brownells, they sent the stock and a A1 A2 kit. the new buffer tube has a lip on it, and no grove in the bottom of the tube also the threaded end of the tube is not long enough. It won't hold the buffer tube pin. WTF am i doing wrong Hard to tell You don't need the receiver plate, the lack of a groove isn't an issue

Screw it in until the shoulder is flush with the receiver.

Screw it in until the shoulder is flush with the receiver. I was thinking that but the end plate shouldn't fit on a rifle extension and the castle nut would use all the threads up wouldn't it?
