Same with Detroit, best advise I can give is don't go out after dark. I grew up just outside of the murder city.

I'm really not.

 

I realize there are a lot of crappy places in Newark, and I also know how easy it is to get mugged here. I've been in most places in this city and so long as you aren't stupid you will be fine. A lot of it is knowing how to act and dress, and knowing where not to be at the wrong time.
