What do you mean by this? Can you explain the process?

When you freeze your credit you do not allow any new credit to be given without you reactivating it. It's a bit more in depth than a temporary fraud alert. So now i know that a fake mortgage, credit card, auto loan, or anything can be created in my name.

 

Yes, when I am applying for a new card or car loan do I have to reactivate it? Yes.

 

I am still vulnerable to someone stealing my existing cards but the fraud you DO find about is better that the fraud you find out about two years later and it's too late.

 

Just go in each credit bureaus homepage there should be links for "freeze my credit"

 

It's kinda hard for me to read on here when people write "what's the big deal, you are not responsible for it". Well if you've ever had fake credit taken out in your name yeah you don't pay for it monetarily but the problem that follows you for years (all the explaining) is priceless
