Does anyone have any current contact information for the Ridgewood Rifle Club? I have called and written, but havent gotten a response.

If it is still an active club that would be great...I live in town and would love to shoot locally!

I live in Glen Rock would be interested as well. I know there is a police/club range in Fair Lawn but there was a long waiting list.

I too have tried a few times over the yrs reaching out but nada. Its 5 mins away from me but in reality more curious than anything, not into 22 much despite my small collection of such lol. From what I've gathered seems like a small private group that wants to lay low... Probly need a secret coin and handshake to get in anyway.. cant be very big given its location but all just my speculation.

My father is a Fair Lawn resident and they told him ONLY residents can be members there. I'm a GR resident, so we just joined Cherry Ridge instead.

I did a quick drive-by(209 Chestnut st) on the way to the bank yestrday. Not much there, its a small narrow building that looks more like a forgotten warehouse than anything else thats crammed in between a few parking lots. Could barely see the front dr because of some bulk storage stuff in front but there is RRC on the dr. Cant hold more than a few ports and maybe 25 yds if that. Is it active? IDK looks like a relic from the past but who knows that may be by design to be out of sight/out of mind and it is in the ANJRPC list. If anyone cares enough you can look at it via a google map street view.

I think the small/private clubs in NJ have definitely been laying low for the last 8 years or so.

Now that there's a bit of a change we may see them open the doors a bit, but I suspect the smaller clubs will never open up to broad membership.

This thread had me thinking... I'd assume the Ridgewood PD could tell you if it is active or not.

Interestingly, there is a smallbore match for Ridgewood Rifle Club listed in February's The American Rifleman.

Almost four decades ago the RRC hosted students who enrolled through the Bergen Continuing Education program to "learn how to shoot safely" and earn their NRA qualification. Imagine that?

I suspect it's become a secret society now, because it's in Bergen County I'm sure they're afraid to come out of the woodwork. Bet you need to know the secret handshake too.

I reached out to Ridgewood Rifle Club after I saw an AD in NJARPC magazine. Their email is "[email protected]." They're primarily targeting JR/youth shooters and their parents as they only shoot .22 LR or Air Rifles on paper targets. Here's some more details:

Quote

We are limited to .22 long rifle and air rifle. If this meets what you shoot then I can provide more information.

We have 8 shooting lanes. The club is open 24/7 as each member has a code for the door.

Our main mission is competitive rifle shooting on paper targets. We do allow .22 pistol.

Senior membership - 70 years and over: $252 + $16.70 = $268.70
Regular membership (or parent/child) $372 + $24.65 = $396.65
Family $432 + $28.62 = $460.63
[NJ State Tax included in all 3 plans]

*It is required by the insurance we purchase from the NRA that all members belong to the NRA

I’m a member of the club and we have about 38 members and are looking to grow. The club is super basic inside but that shouldn’t matter because we are there to shoot after all. The club is looking to start a junior program so while we are looking for juniors and parents, we also strongly encourage that others join.
