  1. Chiappa Firearms, 1911-22. Same size and functions as a real 1911 for less then $300. PK90 is selling one for 280.
  2. I'm comfortable with my nerdiness, I don't care how people classify me. I have a notebook that accompanies my Remington 700, in which I track all of my scope adjustments so I can return it to zero when finished shooting for the day. It comes in handy when sending .308 bullets 300 to 600 yards. I'm a bad asthmatic. If I'm having trouble breathing I'll occasionally wear a mask especially if shooting Wolf ammo, something about that ammo bothers my breathing if I'm in a weakened state. I also watch Dr. Who and Star Trek.
  3. and to be clear.. when you say "zombie" to me that equates to mass civil unrest.. I don't know if in this context we mean THAT.. OR "zombie" eat your brains.. But i guess it doesnt matter much since what I would do in either case would be identical.. if you prepare for the living dead you should be ready for anything.
  4. I ponder questions like this on sleepless nights or when I'm home alone and have just finished watching a zombie training film or read a zombie training manuel. As a resident of Cape May County I have some unique advantages and disadvantages. The countys population in the off season is roughly one million, (according to the countys 2008 report). If an outbreak were to occur during the summer months the population estimates approach 8 million (county tourism estimates, some are higher). The county has only 2 major roads in or out (GSP and route 47). On a normal summer day the roads become difficult to travel. Put panicing, fleeing prey on the streets and it quickly becomes disasterous. I have lumber, food, water and supplies. I'm bugging in. I'll board up window and doors, store up extrawater, fuel the generator and load the guns. If things get really hairy I'll try to acquire a boat to get out of the area. A small boat would give me access to smaller waterways. I would need a large construction vehicle to clear the roads to get out. That would have to wait until ares were safe t travel.
  5. I've seen similar items and have wondered: Do they eject jusl Ike a spent shell? Does the pistol shell easily remove from the adapter? Are there problems with doing this?
  6. Just Sports on Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House has a decent selection of handguns and outstanding customer service. (I believe they are the southernmost shop in the state.) Belleplain Supply Company on Hands Mill Road in Woodbine has an OK selection. Butches Gun World in Vinelend has an OK selection Bobs is limited on the handguns anymore. Arms-N-Ammo.com has a decent selection and can get you just about anything, his customer service is also outstanding.
  7. While your research results were telling, I don't recall stating nor implying anything about you talking out of your a**. I know, I was just joking Regardless, the trial process was not factored into my scenario, which was very short-sighted. However the the assessment of costs involved in such a trial according to your findings seem to be beyond absurd. Another aspect of a broken system. The system certianly is broken. Criminals have more rights then their victims.
  8. I have this same question. I have owned some really cheap red dots that don't withstand the recoil of big rifles. But what about mid-range sights and clones of proven designs. In a SHTF situation I don't know if I would trust my familys lives to something with batteries. I shoot Iron sights very proficiently and can transition between targets quickly. For fun shooting I'd like a red dot but I can't justify it if it costs almost the same as the firearm. I don't mind spending money on a scope if it sits on top of a high end rifle for hunting or long range shooting.
  9. What information do you have to verify this? And have you even factored the relevance of a persons age when incarcerated? Ask, and you shall receive. I don't talk out of my ass. I am not anti death penalty. It is a commonly held misconception that putting someone to death saves the tax payers money. Putting someone to death is in fact much more expensive then executing them. Just a brief summery of some sources. The information is all over the internet, just a Google Search away. A 2003 legislative audit in
  10. It actually costs more money to put someone to death then it does to lock them amay for life. This pos will get what's coming to him in jail. Prisoners don't care for baby killers.
  11. What are the next few dates you guys are doing this? What time do you meet up? I wouldn't mind coming out and meeting a few people form the site. It looks like it's a lot of fun and a lot of picking on Ray Ray.
  12. Check out a police/ems uniform shop. I have a 1 1/2 plain leather belt, double thickness that I have been using for shooting and general wear for 10 years. It holds up to everything.
  13. I'd rather hit with a 22 then miss with a 50. With their minimal recoil a 22 is capable of putting more shots on target in less time. I've treated people shot with multiple calibers and pronounced the ones hit with buckshot. I have seen people continue to function with multiple 22 hits, but I've seen the same with people hit with 9's just not as often. I like my 357 mag with JHP's for home defence but when the shtf I'll use whatever it takes.

    Safe Direction?

Toilot! Seriously. Aiming at the drain. In case of an ND the water and porcelin will absorb the hit and neutralize the bullet. This will also destroy the toilot but no one will be injured. I have a crawl space under the house and a small hill at the back end of my property so I either aim down or into the back yard. It's good to practice safety but also remember an approprately functioning gun won't "go off" if there isn't a finger in the trigger.
  15. Not illegal. Some sites don't want to deal with PRNJ's BS so they don't ship to NJ. I buy Bulk Ammo and have it shipped on a regular basis.
  16. I'm with Ray Ray. My Benelli Nova has requires very little cleaning. Just a wipe down and a couple drops of lube and it's good to go.
  17. My fed-x woman dropped off my last shipment in clearly marked boxes, smiled and said "here is your ammo".
  18. Just so I understand this correctly; You taught your mother in law to shoot???
  19. Thanks for the range report. Bwana4 thanks for the invite. If I head up that way I may take you up on that.
  20. After 9-11 Glock changed their LEO discount to a public service discount. Thus giving a discount to LEO' Fire and EMS employees. Does FN do the same or, as a paramedic, am I SOL?
