  1. 2. Another +1 for this ammo, shot...umm...a LOT through my glock with no issues. Yes the primer caps have a strange red coloring, not sure what that's about but it feeds, fires and ejects just fine.
  3. Somebody had a car accident that resulted in injuries outside a car auction recently. We obviously need to add restrictions on everyone's ability to drive...
  4. "Core thesis"..."excellent philosophical dissertation" my a**. From the preview, the core thesis of this movie appears to be that it's cool to shoot people with bad manners. I hope this movie goes away quietly.
  5. Wow, definitely learned something new today. I would have expected just about any .223 round to sail through all 3 sets of wallboard.
  6. Had a lot of "training" from reading , watching dvd's and online videos and then practicing. I recommend this article to all new shooters I come in contact with: Massad Ayoob, How to shoot a handgun accurately. I'm also a fan of the magpul training videos. I have taken a "real" training course, combative carbine course with MDTS.
  7. First shots: Semi-auto handgun - Beretta .22LR semi, was my Dad's, I think I was 10 years old at the time. From my hazy it memory it looked similar to a 92FS. Anyone happen to know the model number of that pistol? Never owned. Revolver - friend's .357 mag, probably circa 2005 Rifle - Semi-auto .22LR, tube magazine, fiberglass stock, also dad's, shot same day as above handgun. Shotgun - Benelli M2, 2008, mine, still owned. First full auto "firearm" - BB gun "machine gun" - It was basically a plastic shell with pressure compartment that you poured a carton of bb's (and a dab of graphite) into, hooked up to an air compressor hose and then pulled the trigger which opened a valve. Air rushed through the compartment and out the barrel and carried bb's with it. Had it in high school, not sure what happened to it, but obviously don't have it any more. First real full auto - MP5 - 2009. Not mine, but fired legally in NJ.
  8. Spray and pray one-handed? No, but you can brace a semi-auto on a chair/desk/table/counter and fire remaining rounds while a wounded arm flaps on your side.
  9. Ray Ray, the floor is open for your presentation on bird shot...
  10. My biggest pet peeve - people who fear guns as innately dangerous objects, unable to be safely operated or even stored by anyone. These same people don't give a second thought about getting into their car and driving within feet of other cars traveling at a relative speed of 100mph or more.
  11. Kid posts his phone # to facebook and says he's bored. This ensues:
  12. Ok, thanks. I'm going ahead with the order since there are several sale items that might revert back to regular price by next week. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on any available discounts.
  13. Getting ready to put a big order in at Cabela's. Are there any promo codes out now, either for free shipping or $X off a $Y+ order?
  14. Anyone can file suit against anyone else for anything at anytime. Whether the suit will actually be heard by a judge, go to trial and be decided in the plaintiff's favor is the important question. People in the US file "ridiculous" suits all the time. I get outraged when "ridiculous" suits make into "ridiculous" judgements and precedents, but not just when a suit is filed.

    GSG 5 fans?

Pro-mag's have weaker springs than the OEM GSG mags which can lead to a lot of misfeeds as the rounds don't always get pushed up to the proper feed angle. I 'upgraded' all the springs in my pro-mag 15 rounders to OEM springs and significantly reduced the misfeeds. So factor replacing springs into your decision as well.
  16. As long as you don't have a lower receiver I believe it is ok to have an unpinned collapsible stock. However, once you have a lower receiver in your possession then you can not also have a un-pinned collapsible stock as that is "contructive possession".
  17. What happened to the post from the guy claiming to run ffl123.com? It was in the thread previously, now its gone. Back on topic - those of you considering trying to run a home-based FFL might want to talk to Matthew Carmel of Constitution arms(link goes to a blog post he made in online local paper): http://maplewood.pat...me-self-defense He runs an FFL out of his house in a very "residential" area. I did a transfer via him once and wondered if I had the wrong address when I showed up the first time.
  18. I've found it varies depending on the FFL. Some FFL's will allow me to leave it blank, but write my SSN separate on a scrap piece of paper that they'll use to communicate the SSN to NICS but then throw away afterwards. Other FFL's have refused to do the transfer without me filling out the SSN on the ATF form.

    GSG 5 fans?

GSG 5 fan reporting in. Had mine for 'bout 2 years now, I think. Do you run an optic on yours?
  20. +1000. I now use that as the "time to switch back to the iPod input" alert.
  21. Magpul makes some 5.56/.223 ones in hard black polymer that seem to hold up well. I use them for function checks and training and haven't had one fail yet: http://store.magpul.com/prod_detail_list/21
  22. I've assembled 2 AR's from stripped lowers and the only parts I bought in NJ were the stripped lowers themselves. Everything else has been mail order.
  23. Glad to see these are trickling out. Perhaps Ray Ray can find a new hobby outside of the KSG thread now...
