  1. Right you are, I should have phrased it better.
  2. The criminal case against him was the titanic of FAILBOATS, but he got the financial death penalty equivalent in civil court. Basically any legitimate dollar he earned had to go to the Goldman family.
  3. I'd also suggest you drop by the Beretta long gun forum, lots of discussion on different red dot sights on CX4's there: http://www.berettaforum.net/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=14
  4. Good on you Bob for actually responding to the cry for help and doing something. Glad it turned out to not be a dangerous situation after all.

Wow, that's tiny. Looks like an ideal gun to carry in case you need to do a New York reload.
  6. Nice "B.O.M.", looks like fun. One question - You gonna be able to lift that thing back up on its wheels if it falls over when fully loaded?
  7. Working from home today (a rarity for me), and UPS dropped off a box of new toys including a StripLULA: I started playing with it and I've reloaded/unloaded the same magazine at least 20 times now. I'm now addicted to the "BRRRRRRRRP" noise it makes when 10 rounds stream into the magazine in a second... Highly recommended if you need to load lots of AR mags.
  8. I suspect they do the same thing that they do for mattresses and some TV's - make model #'s that are only sold by one retailer to make it more difficult to do direct price comparisons.
  9. Ok cool, learned something new. Let's try this question another way - is it an accepted practice to keep cuffs on someone who would otherwise be "free to go" if they just asked?
  10. Really, so the handcuffs on him were just a ruse to keep him around and all he had to do was speak up and he was free to go? Question for the LEO's - can you cuff someone without them being under arrest?
  11. Yep, there's some more details emerging, and it's looking like, *SHOCK*, the news station did some initial shoddy reporting that warrant was due to student loan default. Putting my outrage at the forced entry on hold until it's clear what the warrant was actually for.
  12. Is enforcing the collection of defaulted student loans worth the time of a SWAT team? Was the threat to society from the deadbeat wife so great that immediate forced entry was necessary? Are we on are way to having debtor's prisons again? http://www.news10.net/news/article/141072/2/Dept-of-Education-breaks-down-Stockton-mans-door Listen to the end of the video - If Mr. Wright was never held against his will, then why was he handcuffed and put in a patrol car for 6 hours? He really could have just asked to go at any time?
  13. CCI minimags with copper plating are a very high quality .22 round, better than the Federals, so that doesn't support ammo being the problem. When I tried plain lead bullets in my GSG-5 they would jam about 1 in every 5 rounds, usually getting hung up on entry into the chamber because the soft bullet got deformed. Federal 525's might jam 1 in 60 or 1 in 100 rounds, and usually when it happens its because I was too hasty in loading up the magazine and didn't get all the rounds slotted correctly. I'd also suggest calling the importer (American Tactical Imports, [email protected]), they have a reputation for good customer service.
  14. Thanks, putting it on the shopping list.
  15. What exactly is the ammo you're using? I have a GSG-5 and find that I can't use plain, lead bullet ammo in it. The feed angle from the magazine is too steep and the bullets end up deforming and jamming at the chamber entrance when the bolt pushes them forward. I have much, much better results using copper-plated hollowpoint ammo, specifically the Federal 525 packs:
  16. Are you sure there isn't some kind of rail riser, or taller scope mounts (maybe scope mounts that are see-thru for the iron sights) available for it?
  17. Matt, thanks for "guesting" me in today. Good to finally meet some NJGF peeps and I broke my >100 yard shooting cherry. Props to Mr. Shoot-it-all, he had a dead center bullseye at 200 yards after what, 3 shots? Anyone know the specifics on the Mueller scope we were using on the AR at 200 yards? I was very impressed with it, thinking about getting one.
  18. I'm going up as Matt's guest (I think) - Will be wearing green POF t-shirt and black cap.

    Is this legal?

Here's an independent review of the MR1 in case you haven't already seen it: http://thetruthaboutguns.com/2010/08/bryan-hyde/gun-review-benelli-mr1-tactical-rifle/
  20. Back on to the original topic, it would be interesting if the van owner used some of those fake bullet hole stickers to cover up the actual bullet holes... Would it be possible for him to sue the estate of the deceased shooter for the damage?
  21. Box of truth - Multiple 9mm shots result in *some* penetrating all the way through 2 Buick car doors (scroll to bottom): http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/buickot3_2.htm
  22. Very interesting. Hope that special o-ring in the fitting doesn't degrade over time.
