  1. I've got some mil surplus stuff lying around. Are you looking for plain FMJ loadings?
  2. Got got a wonderful Lab Terrier Mix from Petsmart Adoption. ACAP was the rescue organization I got her from. Nice people. Nice dog. Most of her shots already done and already spayed.
  3. I've got extra .223 Rem/5.56 brass. PM me. Preferably local to Cherry Ridge so we don't have to deal with shipping.
  4. Take the soft lead that you have. Heat to just below 700F (pure lead flows better with some additional heat since you have no tin to assist with flow.) You can flux with Brownell's Marvelux, sawdust including California Flake Flux, used motor oil, beeswax, parafin wax or anything else that protects the surface of the metal from the air. Flux is designed to keep the lead in molten state from oxiding. Have fun.
  5. Lead that is pure and soft is a little but difficult to come by. Alloyed lead for casting bullet is easier to get. Figure that the scrap price being paid is around $0.40/lb and to the right person you can get $1/lb delivered for casting purposes. If you really want some money for lead, lead extrusions in wire form go for around $2.5-$4/lb if they're the right size. Check out www.rotometals.com for a comparision of what's out there. What type of lead alloy are you looking to sell?
  6. I like the 5 inch John Ross edition s&w 500. Points nice, no muzzle break annoying your shooting and still heavy enough that the recoil doesn't kill you. Lots of inexpensive cast bullets to shoot if you want to practice with the 500 cartridge and you reload. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  7. Here's a positive review of the new revisions. http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/kel-tec-ksg-15-round-shotgun-range-report/
  8. That's right according to the rules. I have seen the RO's make exceptions however.
  9. I think that there is perhaps some misinformation about the penetrating power of the 50 BMG. Given a sand backstop, firing at 100 yards. I can reach in and pick out the hardened penetrators from AP(black tip ammo) shot from single shot 50 BMG rilfe. The issues are not penetration of the backstop. The issues are when people don't hit the backstop. The distance the round will carry and the damage it will do when it hits is significant versus a smaller round. In the north NJ area, Cherry Ridge will let you shoot at 300 yards but only on Wednesday and Thursday with ammo that has bullets with lead core or frangible. No copper/brass and nothing with steel. There are definitely safety considerations when shooting in a populated state like NJ but with some smarts, you can shoot safely. LUP
  10. I'd like an M1 Carbine HK PSG-1 Full Auto Ruger 10/22 I give myself very low chances while residing in NJ.
  11. I haven't tried it yet so I can't comment conclusively. I think that there are timers on the throwers so that you can shoot by yourself or a friend but I don't know how many could really be going at once realistically.
  12. I can't find any law against it so you have a decision to make. Is the risk of spending the night in the tombs because some NYC LEO decided you were a terrorist worth the extra hassle? Since from your description, your buddy isn't transporting firearms, have him meet you OUTSIDE the city and save yourself the hassle of NYC traffic and firearms related bs. I wouldn't recommend LI ranges since you'll have to go back into NYC anyway to get there. There are also several ranges closer than CT in NJ. I'd consider those as well depending on how much time you have. LUP
  13. When I was shooting 500-600 rounds of FMJ 45 ACP each week practicing and was paying retail. Some basic math and a trip to Master Class Shooter supply netted me a 550B press. Been adding to that setup for years. Never looked back about not reloading since the ammo costs have just risen. Buy in bulk, buy often. You'll have supplies when everyone else is whining about the price or the availability.
  14. +1 to Shane for offering a cool optic and mount combo. Very nice setup. Looking forward to giving it some torture testing. LUP
  15. Got mine yesterday. Very nice. Everything seems to lock up nicely and the sight itself should be perfect.
  16. I have some lake city and commercial 223 a well as some federal 308 cases. All once fired. PM me for details.
  17. My guess is everything is compatible with the exception of barrels and stocks. The barrel has an off cut in it to facilitate take down. I suspect that you could modify another barrel and make it work. The parts diagram seems to support this as basically everything is the same in the action rearwards.
  18. I've got one. It's very nice. Handles well and my eye lines up with the sights correctly. There's a gap in the stock where the two halves come together which looks a little weird and it has the new plastic trigger assembly that Ruger has gone to for their 10/22's. Looks like a fun time to me. Trigger is awful and will need modification or replacement but I think that's the new Ruger standard unfortunately.
  19. So it'll be 4 weeks on Monday.Of course Aimpoint just like every other firearms accessories manufacturer delivered early and you've been just waiting to tell us the good news right? What's the current status on these?
  20. I once saw a guy fire .308, 270 win, and 30-06 out of the same bolt action 30-06. The groups weren't too bad. But the brass blew out and kept getting stuck.
  21. Barack Obama = The end of the United States Mitt Romney =Barack Obama Lite - less effective but still the end of the United States.
  22. I'd think you could do stockwork and other items that don't require the gun to be in your possession but it's a requirement for any real gunsmithing.
  23. I was there for part of the afternoon. To add to your list of things to bring. Magazines to hold at least 40 rounds of ammunition for your firearm. I find that shooting cheap lead bullets out of 45 ACP to be most effective but your mileage may vary. It's a good time no matter what you're shooting.
  24. There's also Walnut Valley Sportsmen in that same area I think. Don't know much else about those clubs though.
  25. Is this the one you're referring to? http://jeffersonsportsmen.atspace.com/
