  1. The ariticle on lawyer.com is so skewed, Looks at his sources (in the faintest grey highlight as possible). Most of his data comes from Wikipedia and other anti gun articles. Hardly representative sampling. In the meantime, here's a link from the DOJ that's interesting: http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/guns.cfm
  2. Let's see. The officers behind him are most likely armed. And there appears to be hollow point ammunition on the table (Hornady ? not sure). What a giant fail.
  3. LOL. Not so far fetched! There are a number of theories out there that suggest the U.S. at some point will split into 2 to three segments.
  4. I joined today without seeing this offer. Just wanted to do it, finally. Don't want anything, but the karma is indeed nice!
  5. I think it's like anything else...supply, demand and what the market will bear.
  6. Good one. 1947 isn't that long ago (only 8 years before I was born). Times and attitudes have indeed changed. Speaking of grandmothers...I remember when she bought her first color TV. It was a Zenith and looked like an ornate piece of furniture. And it was a beast!! My dad and uncle each busted a nut carrying that thing up the stairs for her. In fact I can remember asking my grandmother why dad kept calling the TV a "son of a bit**". lol. And yes, we were treated to the dulcet tones of The Lawrence Welk Show when we visited. Good memories.
  7. I've been holding off joining the NRA and NJ2A long enough. Why? I don't know. But that's what we need to do and play the game. The NJ2A Society can continue their excellent work with the courts (which is how it works in NJ with anything). And the NRA can lobby and line the pockets of those they deem appropriate with cash (which is how it works in D.C.).
  8. LOL. My kind of humor...except with me all it would take would be a liverwurst and onion sandwich. Clear the field...fire in the hole!
  9. You can't, by design. To address the safety issues of the powerful .357 ballistics pressures (compared to the .38), the casings are an 1/8 of an inch longer and can't fit in the .38 special cylinder. Should a person decide to hand load a magnum load into a .38 cartridge, the gun could possibly explode (or likely explode) and you could risk death or maiming to yourself and bystanders.
  10. We had a good one roll in last night in Ship Bottom, between 8 and 9pm. Power was out around 8:30 or so for about a half hour.. Certainly not as bad as that monster storm we had last week. Apparently more are on the way. The dogs went nuts, though.
  11. I wonder how the gun community on Youtube will react considering YT is a Google company. Hmm. What bothers me about this is that someone's decision to purchase or sell via e-commerce is now retricted, or eliminated. Although it is only one channel of purchase, it just doesn't feel good. Another example of how free enterprise is eroding in this country.
  12. Like someone said earlier, there's a GP100 here for sale. Sweet! Wish I had the cash right now.
  13. Welcome. Are you initiating the process for the first time, i.e. FID and permit to purchase a hangun? You mention "permit" Is it a permit to simply (and I use simple because it works in the sentence not that anything is simple here in NJ) purchase a handgun? Or is it a carry permit? It's not uncommon to wait 3-4 months for anything firearm related. 2-3 is average. If it's a carry permit, good luck. Personally, I wouldn't start throwing out lightening bolts until maybe mid July. That's just me. Having said that, welcome again to the forums. You'll learn a lot.
  14. Exactly what country does Pelosi think she's living in? Jeez. And to Patriot Oaks's point, the "gun money" should throw a few sheckles in Issa and Grassley's direction.
  15. Good deal, smooth transaction and nice guy. Would def do business again.
  16. You guys got it all wrong! This is one of the new Dura-Coat camo patterns.
  17. Silly laws indeed. Did you know it is illegal in NJ to cover yourself with milk in the presence of a kitten? jk lol. This state is nuts.
  18. lol. Be prepared, I say. Not only for the gangbanger, but have the name of a good firearms attorney, know the law, be trained and try to make the right decision.
  19. As responsible gun owners, why not consult or have the name of an attorney before we ever have to use our guns in self defense. Asking the question on a forum is valid, but like anything else, w're going to get a myriad of responses speckled with opinion. I know asking an attorney is probably the last thing we would want to do. But if the day ever came, the very last thing I would want to worry about is trying to figure this all out while I'm in a jail cell (and most likely we would be) while flipping through the yellow pages next to some gangbanger who's looking at my asshole.
