  1. That FA sound always puts a big smile on my face
  2. Any C&R guys have experience with the Darrell mount that secures to the existing rear sight body? Looks like to me the best option without a permanent drill/tap which I really dont want to do as I want to keep the rifle original. The mount uses the existing pin to secure it and doesnt rely on a couple of wimpy set screws as its main attatchment. My eyes definatly need help so wanna go the scout route. A little pricy at $75 but if it does the job better than anything else, thats the bottem line.Any gun's NG if you cant use it well.Other suggestions are welcome.
  3. I've got a fair amount of once fired, uncleaned mixed 38, 9mm and a small amount 357mag, some in trays other bagged. Anyone here interested? I really dont know the value so whats a fair price per rnd? probobly 2-3 thousand all together, still sorting and counting. No I'm not stting up a table just going to look around and if someone wants to meetup pm me and Ill check back later .38=1,748 mostly trays 9mm=650 bagged 357mag=125 762x54=32 NEVER MIND-BEEN THERE AND BACK
  4. What he said ^^^. I/ve always felt that our military and lifestyle are waaay too dependant on tech. A couple of well placed EMPs on the ground and a few pokes at our eyes in the skys and we're seriously crippled.I really hope that the so called braintrust has a strong plan B, kinda like good ole iron sights cause those massed ground troops are gonna get a whole lot more important real fast.I actually recently tried to have this conversation with my son and a few of his Marine buds. My points were pretty much everything the previous two posts implied. They wanted nothing to do with that topic and expectadly didnt even care.
  5. I'm getting big colorful error page by ehostpros
  6. 115gr in case you're interested $170 buy it now +$20s/h Gunbroker auction# 230277251
  7. I've got a few outstanding citizen type buddies that we just keep bouncing our references off each other. Also you may want to think about any indescretions youmay have had in the past, anything from an outstanding parking ticket to stabbimg someone in the eyeball.Getting denied first time around and then having to deal with that can be a real pain in the azz.My first gun vote also goes to the GP100-great gun, pulls double duty as 38/357 and built like a tank and would make a great club! Is priced favorobly against the 686 too. Was my first handgun and still my favorite.
  8. Yea, looks great, congrats. You gonna be able to take it for a ride this weekend?
  9. I somehow envision a lot of "alibis" going his way.
  10. Definatly go for the classes. You also have the option of having a private class with some instructors which could be great experience for you and your wife. Also might be a good idea to have the class at the actuall range/club you're most likely to join if only for the familarity of it when you go back on your own.I believe most instructors have some common class guns and will usually start you on .22's, as they and you should.have you started you process of obtaining a FPID card/permits? Sooner the better.
  11. just got one yesterday from PO,all they want is the money.
  12. In the website for Cherry Ridge the range rules specify all firearms must have an action that can be locked open, understandably for when the line goes safe/cold. Whats the standard for making the AK safe without a LRBHO feature? Is it ok just to chamber a flag and let the bolt rest up to it, do you need to wedge a stick in there or what?
  13. was wondering if anyone has experience with the safety selecter replacement by Blackjack Buffer(?),the SWIFT lever? Also would it make sense to do a bullet guide at this time (conversion) or would it somehow interfere with the current mags?
  14. Ha! I think the bargaining should be the other way around, still getting over her buying a $2,000+ friggen refridgerator! Now of course I gave the Hubby okee dokee just to have that ace in my back pocket.
  15. Hey- leave the cat alone. And just cause you don't see THEM doesn't mean THEY're not watching you!
  16. Maks, feel free to enlighten me on the (lack of) Vepr warrentay. Actually made several inquirys earlier this week but as of yet no replys. All that black walnut, chrome and robust platform and reliabilty was at the top of my list.Form AND function all in one.
  17. My vehicles adhere to the 5th Amendmant, nobody elses business. Especially since I do a lot of out of state traveling. I even jump on my kids for refferencing me(and themselves) on facebook.
  18. Was quoting the guesstimate in the write-up. $1150-$1250 still hundreds more than a real nice cadillac of a VEPR with beutiful wood front & back. JMHO.
  19. I agree $1500-$1700 is crazy money for an AK type, Get a really nice VEPR for about 1/2 that. Spend that kinda money on a nice AR.
  20. kinda weird(predictable?) which direction some of these posts go. I saw a Saiga for sale here and just threw it out there. Thinking AK varient is where I'm leaning. That or a Bushmaster at twice the price.Or maybe the CX4 9mm I almost had last fall to share mags with my Cougar. No wait,a Marlin 357 lever for my Ruger 357? Arsenal SLR 106fr, are they even legal here? Man, gonna have to drink on this a while.
  21. Just sent my wife a little email and pic on a rifle I was looking at, half joking, and and her response- "Ok but this is it!!!!!". Looks like a blank check to me! Now I gotta hunker down and make a decision, she'll never know the dif on whatever I get um, I mean
