  1. Thanks for the heads up. I logged on to reduce my rates, and ended up checking my data usage. Prompted me to reduce the data plan, and now my plan is $30 less a month.
  2. The first bit of your response did not answer the OP's question. Your advice about home defense is horrible. I have never heard of using a snap cap as the first round. Racking the slide in an attempt to scare the intruder is some of the worst, yet most common home defense advice ever given.
  3. I'm surprised. Levitation seems to be one of the more common Stone beers that I see.
  4. That's a pretty decent markdown, although it's not as significant if it's marked down from their MSRP.
  5. Rough estimate on the price point?
  6. That's cool and all, and I'm quite jealous.....but $500 for a stock that can shave 4" off of OAL is a pretty hefty price, even in a state where you could utilize the collapsing action.
  7. Out of curiosity, is there any benefit to fluting the bolt other than aesthetics?
  8. Stone Levitation. Not sure who is into beer, or what is available in NJ, but Stone is a very good brewery. Last time I was back in NJ, there were two bars that had a "Craft beer" section on their beer list. One bar only had Shock Top, the other bar had Shock Top and Blue Moon. I hope those bars were the exception, and that all of NJ does not think those are craft beers. Just to give a frame of reference for those who have lived in NJ all their lives, the alcohol laws suck almost as much as the gun laws. When I was stationed in Charleston, SC, you could go to the gas station on the corner and get a growler of REAL craft beer. When I was stationed in Saratoga Springs, NY, bars were open until 4am, and you could buy bottled beer or a growler from Price Chopper (which was open 24 hours a day) at any time, except between 4am and 8am.
  9. I'll pull one from your book... Tell us what you plan to use the knife for, and we can point you in the right direction.
  10. This sounds like a lot of work. Do you have kids?
  11. This is either true or false, depending on how far back you go. If you compare a car that we have today, to the same model 10 years ago, the cars are getting heavier. This is because of extra creature comforts and safety features that we didn't have 10 years ago. However I will completely agree with you that tires are quite important when it comes to traction. My current truck has 4x4 and some form of traction control, and I still lost control in the snow. If I had better tires for the job, I believe that it wouldn't have happened. Side note. I know you guys didn't get anything, but up here in Groton, CT...we got hammered. The snow was halfway up my thigh in some spots.
  12. Spoiler alert: The man also did not walk into the bear.
  13. I didn't know that a Spike's lower was skimping.
  14. From what I understand, this is not the deciding factor in whether this stock is legal or not. If I drill a hole through the adjustment rail of a buffer tube and a telescoping stock, and thread a bolt through it and tighten a nut on the end, that is not permanent, and would not be legal. This however should be legal because you are adjusting the LOP, not the stock itself. I agree with Bob.
  15. It's interesting, but I guess I'm finding it odd that the controls are in different places based on which side you're operating them from. Toast can you elaborate/explain this a bit?
  16. Good recommendation. I went there last year, it was quite fun. Also, if you have a truck (preferably 4x4) you can actually drive on the lake. Last year there was an actual drag strip set up on the lake. They had a drag racing competition during the day, but anyone could drive on it after the races ended. A couple friends and I drove further out onto the lake, about a mile out, and watched the fireworks from a mile out on the lake. We also got some inner tubes from Wal-Mart, and I pulled a couple friends around. It's GREAT fun, just do it at your own risk. (For what it's worth, these are rough numbers. The state of NY requires 10" of ice for a 2 or 3 ton truck, and last year there was about 24" of ice during Winter Carnival.)
  17. This is 100% correct. There's a huge difference between a kill, and a confirmed kill. Chris Kyle has 150-16- confirmed kills, however he has more ACTUAL kills, as his actual kill count includes both confirmed and unconfirmed kills.
  18. I've watched it twice. For what it's worth, it is a decent movie. It wasn't just an action movie, like Lone Survivor was. American Sniper (the movie) did a good job of ALSO portraying the family struggles that he and his wife dealt with. There were however a couple parts that weren't exactly how Chris Kyle told them in his book. All in all, they weren't huge inconsistencies, and none of them decreased the quality of the movie. Cooper did a pretty decent job acting, considering the roles he normally plays. All in all, it's worth seeing.
  19. This works too. Like I said, I did something similar by not driving with plates at all. Also...I purchased a second vehicle several months back. When I went into NJDMV to register and change title, they didn't ask for a bill of sale, just asked how much I paid for it. I'm not telling you that you can make up a number that's less than what you paid, in order to pay less for taxes...but they don't ask for a bill of sale.
  20. Some states have laws that allow you to drive vehicles without registration for a certain period of time after purchasing. I don't know about NJ, you can look into it. I drove a car for an hour and a half from North NJ to Central NJ without plates, no issues. Not to say you should do what I did, but it's up to you. Depending on the distance, you may be able to talk the current owner into driving the car to your house with their plates and insurance, signing the bill of sale at your house, and then you drive them home or they arrange their own ride. You can then insure and register the car at your own convenience. Regardless of what you do, make sure you have insurance.
  21. You know DAMN WELL that the LS series engines are the exception to this rule. 91's are underpowered, have small brakes, and dated interiors. You should look into something newer....maybe something like a 1999
  22. Year, miles, price, condition? I have a Miata for sale as well.
  23. I'm surprised that nobody has commented on the fact that he drew his loaded pistol in the middle of a store. That was his FIRST mistake, completely unnecessary. Not clearing his clothing was the second mistake.
