Anselmo replied to verysimple's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Does the law prohibit prohibited persons from possession of hollow points? -
It's only illegal if you're distributing drugs. structure has been fortified if steel doors, wooden planking, cross bars, alarm systems, dogs, lookouts or any other means are employed to prevent, impede, delay or provide warning of the entry into a structure or any part of a structure by law enforcement officers.

Legality of a Glock with a threaded barrel
Anselmo replied to sorvanetzsorv's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
You get one evil feature on a pistol and still legal. So, a threaded barrel is legal on all glocks except maybe the 17. ii. A semi-automatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following: (1) An ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip; (2) A threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer; (3) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned; (4) Manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded; and/or (5) A semi-automatic version of an automatic firearm; and -

That word "instant". I do not think it means what you think it means.

FID change of address DENIED
Anselmo replied to NJGuy732's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
I know. The bottom of the application has a box to check for granted after appeal. I played their game and got my FID and P2Ps. They acted like they were doing me a favor so I said thank you and left with my permits. -
Awesome. I still trying to get my wife to the golf range, let alone the gun range.

My credit card number gets stolen about once every two years now. It's not big deal. I'm not worrying about it. A few months ago my credit card was used to buy take out food in Utrecht Netherlands. The credit card company reported it as suspicious and issued me a new card the next day.

FID change of address DENIED
Anselmo replied to NJGuy732's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
After I won my denial appeal, the prosecutor sent me the letter 3 days after the court date. Three days after that, the local PD filled out an FID application for me, checked the "yes" box for have you ever been denied and filled in that the denial was overturned by superior court judge and had me sign it. Then they they issued my FID to me. -

You write letter to court requesting appeal of denial. After you are granted appeal, you mail the court a letter stating you're a fine fellow and meet all the requirements of the law to obtain an FID. The state (prosecutor) will mail their case against you to you and the judge. You then mail the state and the court your response. Then you head to court. -

There is not much a lawyer can do for you that you can't do yourself in this situation. You have two choices. 1. Talk to the local PD like it says on your letter. They will either say, "oh goodness, we made a mistake" or "you have the right to appeal to superior court" 2. Appeal to superior court. It's not hard to do. Just write a letter to superior court asking to appeal the denial. I can send you templates in WORD if you need them. -

Do you have 2A rights while you're at work? I know my employer has a no weapons at work rule. -
You should be able to answer 1, 3 and 5 without problem. You should be able to give an approximate range for 2 and 4. Give that to your local PD and see if that suffices. It should. If they wanted the official transcript and were really worried, they'd get it themselves and not ask you. Or, maybe they already have it but want to get your side of the story. So, be truthful. Lying is a problem. Not remembering dates is not a problem. When I did background check on myself, the letter arrived in the mail 2 days after I was fingerprinted. That process is not the source of delays.

NJ is shall issue for FID and may issue for CCW. Shall issue means the default answer is "yes"; that the state has to issue unless they can prove good cause to not issue. May issue means that the default answer is "no" and the applicant must prove why they are worthy. NJ may have trouble showing that they have not set that bar too high and becoming a de facto no issue state.

Your unloaded guns need to be in the trunk or in a fastened case. Don't over think this.

The ATF cares. They don't want people circumventing the FFL system.
