  1. Hello, I am new here and looking to sell my two hand guns (I have another post for a Browning 22 1911 what will have a description very similar to this post). This post is for a Glock G19 GEN5 with fiber optic sights that I purchased new from Firearms Support and Storage June of 2019. I have used it a total of two times at RTSP in Union NJ and in it's lifetime it has shot only 172 rounds down range. It comes with 3 10 round clips magazines as well as the grips/lock as shown in the photos. I have not used it since prior to covid, so I will give it the best cleaning I can before the sale. The price is $500 plus FFL transfer fees - ideally I would like to use Tier One Defense in Union NJ (https://tieronedefense.com/) where you can book an FFL appointment and pre-pay (once we find a day/time that works best for both of us) - the payment of $500 will be in person at the sale. If you have questions or if I can share any other photos, please let me know. Thank you! The first to post "I'll take it" wins the sale
  2. Does anyone have experience with Jim Flynn’s in glen Gardner nj, I bought a bag of 9mm Ammo for my Glock 19 gen 5 and I was wondering if it’s good Ammo and if it’ll be safe to fire in my Glock. Thank you- TD

  5. I have been wanting to get some grip work done on my 2 main carry guns for a long time. So today I caught up with Joe at Modern Materiel just after lunch and dropped off a G23 and a G35 to him for some work. I got a call back around 8:00 tonight and he said to swing by and pick them up. I was shocked they were able to get them done that fast. Glock 23: I asked for an aggressive stipple job, remove top finger bump, shorted the length of pull, and relieve around the mag release. I usually carry my G23 with a SF X300U and a DG11 switch, so I didn't want the trigger guard undercut. To say I am pleased is an understatement. [ Fits my hand like the proverbial glove. The outline is clean and straight and the texture is aggressive but not painful. Glock 35: My G35 got something different - a mix of epoxy and silicon carbide. The only mod to the grip was to have the space around the mag release relieved. The silicone carbide feels like the frame was dipped in liquid skateboard grip tape. It sticks to your hand like your hand is make of velcro.

  7. Hey guys, My name is Frankie. I am new to firearms all around and I am excited to start my journey into the world of firearms. I am from Monmouth county and I am currently waiting on my FID and Permit so i can purchase my first handgun, the Glock 19. Here is my experience so far with the application process with the Middletown PD: 5/13- Filled out FID and Permit application 5/21- Got fingerprints done 5/23- References received and sent back letter to my PD 5/24- Went into PD and followed up with copy of my finger prints receipt becauseI wasn't sure if I had to bring that back. The women at the desk told me I did not have to however she took my papers and made a copy for their records. 6/7- Called the records department in Middletown PD and kindly asked for an update on my application. The women was very nice and more than happy to check my status. She told me that they had recieved all my paper work a couple days ago and that they are processing them at the moment. I am hopeful that they will be done soon. A couple of my buddies have told me that my PD is fairly quick so my fingers are crossed!!
  8. Hey guys so while I am waiting on my FID and PP (fingers crossed that will be soon) I am looking around at different shops through out NJ for a good price on a Glock 19. Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on shops they like to go to or have just heard good things about that I can check out while I wait for my permit. Also, what ranges do you guys like to shoot at and which would you recommend? Thanks!

    Glock Sights

Hello everyone I was wondering if any Glock owners could give me advice for the following: Due to eye strain I want to get larger sights for my Glock handgun , can you recommend any that have worked well for you. Also I am in South jersey and would need someone to install the sights, is this something a typical gun shop can do or is there anyone specific you can recommend. Thank you for any advice.
  13. A couple of days ago I went to remixer to pick up my another Christmas/New Year gift from my wife :-) This was a used police trade-in Glock 22 Gen 4 from CDNN Sports (I wrote about that deal some time ago - http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/74178-used-glock-22-gen4-for-34473-shipped-cdnn-sports-inc/ - this is the cheapest I've seen Gen 4 Glocks ever) Just thought I might share some impressions about buying a used gun from CDNN and help someone who's on the fence about buying used guns online. Obviously, YMMV as always :-) Gun safety disclaimer - I had no single round of .40 at home at all at the time of the cleaning (this is my first gun in .40). I carefully checked the gun twice to make sure it is not loaded before I started to work on it. **** First of all, small downside - CDNN seemed to mess up with their links, so that my confirmation email stated "Glock 22 Gen 4 NS Good to Ex condition" and in reality they sent the one considered "Average to good". I was a little concerned with this at first and called CDNN - they apologized, explained the mess up with links and product codes in the system and offered me $20 off my purchase - I asked if they can just ship me an extra mag for this Glock instead of this discount and they kindly agreed. Honest mistake, case closed. **** Gun case - CDNN shipped a gun in a completely new gun case with original Glock sticker removed. Deep in the case there was an envelope with test-fired rounds from 9mm Glock 17 with a different serial number and a date of April 2014. I guess PD just took new gun cases and sent the old guns as trade-ins in those new cases. Magazine - Unfortunately CDNN offers used Glocks with only 1 mag in the case. On an extremely good side, I got a brand new and likely unused mag! It had NO single scratch on it whatsoever, so it is indeed a never fired new one. I actually realized it completely only after my first trip to the range yesterday trying to clean some residue from the mag. Other accessories - There was a gun rod and cleaning brush in the case, both unused. There was also a Glock mag speed loader, a gun lock (also unused) and a set of older style Gen 4 backstraps (only 2 backstraps without beavertails) - also in an unopened package with a small punch and a longer backstrap pin inside. There were also some papers inside in an unopened envelope - I guess those were shipped with a new gun in the case. *** Handgun itself was VERY dirty (well, at least in my view, maybe I'm yet to see a really dirty gun...). I guess this was the reason they graded it as "average" in the first place. I wish I had taken more pics before cleaning, but it seems that the gun has never seen not only a deep cleaning with solvents, but also a swipe of a brush or a boresnake inside the barrel. Yes, I know it is Glock and most likely it would've shot even in such a condition, but if it was my duty gun, I would've probably been a little scared that it malfunctions when I'd need it most... Compared to my other Glocks (newer Gen4 ones that I bought in 2013 and 2014 respectively), this Glock 22 had a much "grainier" look of the metal surface. I guess some other composition of alloy or some other finishing technology was used back then - I have no issues with that, just an observation. Jumping ahead, I gave a call to Glock the next day and asked them about dates of this particular handgun. It seemed that it has been imported in March 2011, then went to PD (they don't disclose what PD though... not that I really care, but still) in April 2011 and then got back to Glock only for 1 day the same month (maybe some recall, maybe installing night sights - there was no such info available in the system). That said, the gun is less than 4 years old that seems to be quite good for police trade-ins - I heard about Gen2 guns still offered by some retailers that date back to 10+ years. There seemed to be no recalls or any other mandatory repairs pending for this gun either. Slide and barrel: I started with a slide putting the frame aside for a while. I disassembled the slide completely, removed the firing pin, extractor and all other parts that I have no idea how they are called, LOL :-) Then I gave it an intense cleaning with Hoppe's solvent and after that - with RemOil, including all canals I could've reached until clean patches started to come out. I also took a firing pin assembly apart and cleaned every single piece. After all I assembled it back together in a cleaned slide adding a small drop of Tetra gun grease where I considered it to be appropriate (and where suggested by Glock Armorer's Manual). Slide doesn't even show a lot of holster wear as I initially expected and night sights are still quite strong, though not as strong as on my 1-year old CZ75. I think after 3.5 years they are roughly in the middle of their lifespan, so I'm likely good for the next 3-4 years. Barrel was a real PITA. It took me almost half an hour and multiple swaps between a copper brush, softer brushes and patches with Hoppe's #9 bore cleaner to clean all the residue inside the barrel. I think, the hardest part was a crown of the barrel that I was trying to be very careful about and not to damage it. Recoil spring assembly was also quite hard to clean from some white residue, especially on the part facing out - I guess this was from sweat while carrying the gun in a holster. This is the condition of a barrel AFTER my cleaning: Frame: After getting done with the slide, I got back to the frame and also disassembled it entirely. Plenty of shot residue here on parts as well, but my main concern was with the condition of the frame itself. It was DIRTY. I don't know if it was chocolate on the grip or... mmm... something similar in color, LOL, and I don't really want to know, so I decided to do something I might probably not do on a steel frame gun... Yes, water, dishwashing solvent and a brush :-) After the bath I wiped and dried all cavities in the frame (continuously embracing Glock simplicity and engineering genius...), cleaned and lightly lubed all the internal parts and assembled all back together. I checked all the safeties, assembled the gun together, dry-fired it a little and put back to the case until the next day. **** Test fire: I grabbed some .40 ammo on my way to EFGA yesterday and gave this gun a try. Apparently I must have thrown all targets with holes away with other trash after the range, but I was pleasantly satisfied that the gun shoots 1) as it should 2) much better than I do. I think with a relatively rapid fire from ~7 yards I managed to place all rounds in ~8 inch circle (but frankly I haven't tried to shoot as accurately as possible). I very much liked the recoil - it didn't feel too much worse than my 9mm Glocks. In total I ran almost full box of .40 ammo (maybe 40 rounds or so) without a single issue/FTE/FTF or so. **** Bottom line: I am VERY happy with the purchase. $330 for a gun (with 2 mags, counting the one that is still on its way from CDNN) + $15 shipping + $40 transfer = $385 out of the door for what seems to be a very decent Glock 22 Gen 4. I'll definitely take it. I know that is not always the case with used guns, but this time I am totally satisfied. And obviously thanks as usual to Steve aka remixer - easy and pleasant transfer as all the others before. ****
  14. Used Glock 23 gen 1, 2 or 3 magazines from an LE buyback program. $11.99 free shipping. Bunch of other good grabs on the web site as well! http://www.combatarmory.com/used-gen-1-2-3-glock-23-high-capacity-13-round-magazine-le-mags/
  15. I'd like to build a Glock most likely an assembled lower frame but not definitely. I'll I am fairly comfortable with disassembling and reassembling pistols, and would certainly take my time sourcing parts. have any of you built your own Glocks before. What are some main dos & don'ts? Can you recommend any parts that are good to have when building one? I find I end up swapping parts and sometimes doing trigger jobs on my pistols anyway, and i love to build things (mainly Ar's). Any experienced members care to share? thanks
  16. Has anyone tried to add +2 or whatever to their ban-state 10-rd Glock mags? I know there are a bunch of different aftermarket baseplates out there for Glock mags, but they all say "not for 10-rd mags" due to the different internal geometry of limited mags. I've got a Glock 17 with a bunch of 10-rd mags, and i wanted to add capacity. Has anyone been able to figure this out? Ultimately, i'm buying some of PK90's 15-rd Glock 17 mags, but was hoping i could so SOMETHING with my existing 10-rounders.
  17. Look what we got in today! OD Glocks! We received two G23 Gen 4s, one G26 Gen 4, and a G27 Gen 4. If you are tired of FDE an black handguns, why not switch it up and go green! Come on in and check them out!

    Glock 41

Has anybody checked them out anywhere? Anybody thinking about getting one, or has anyone bought one already? If so any feedback?
  19. So i finally got to take "Krystal", my Umbrella Corp. build to the range yesterday. Robs609 and my self helped Firearms Training Sepulveda Firearms Training film some instructional videos at Shooters last night. While Robs609 got to shoot her more than i did, i was able to pop off a few rounds and give a quick test to the Umbrella Corp BCG and SSA trigger i installed yesterday. Rob, Kharis and myself agree... the SSA Trigger is where it's at! So much smoother and tighter than the Spikes Battle Trigger i had in there before. shot about 50 rounds w/no FTF or FTE with the new Umbrella BCG. More info on that after i get some more trigger time on her. anyway, here are a few photos and vids from yesterday.. check out that muzzle flash! lol Thanks to ROBS609 for being our designated shooter for the videos. anyway, thought we would share!
  20. Was able to finally shot the glock 19 gen4 ipicked up a few months back. Great time, handles beautifully. Now my questions. It took a good amount of force to place the mag into the gun. Is that normal? Also, if the slide was back when I loaded the mag, it (the slide)would release and slide forward chambering a round. Is this normal??This gun had 0 rounds through it before me, so I dont know if that is partof the issue. Im a newbie to pistols, but I feel that this should not be happening?
  21. For the Glock guys.. I have two stock Gen 3 Glock 19's and was thinking of tuning one of them up with an eye toward possibly shooting some matches in the future...I came across this Pyramid Ultimate trigger kit.. http://www.glockstore.com/pyramid/pyramid-trigger-ultimate-system Is this kit worth it or would I be better suited going in another direction..was trying to keep the upgrades under $300.00..
  22. The legality of threaded barrels in semi-auto pistols is regulated by the Guidelines Regarding the "Substantially Identical" Provision in the State's Assault Firearms Laws: http://www.state.nj.us/lps/dcj/agguide/assltf.htm A threaded barrel is one (#2) of the five named "evil" features, and the presence of any two of those would make a pistol into an "assault weapon" (i.e., illegal) in NJ. In the case of Glocks, the main issue is the "evil" feature #5; whether a pistol is "a semi-automatic version of an automatic firearm". Since Glock 18 is a select-fire machine pistol, there is an opinion that Glock 17 is "a semi-automatic version of" Glock 18, and therefore a Glock 17 with a threaded barrel would be illegal in NJ. For example, PK90 seems to be adhering to this position: http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/29933-threaded-barrel/#entry394581 On the other hand, the NJ Gun Law Summary by vladtepes: http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/blog/1/entry-16-nj-gun-law-summary/ specifically states that: "A glock (which is a semi automatic pistol that has a detachable magazine ) with a threaded barrel. LEGAL" I would like to know if there has been any consensus opinion reached on this issue. This issue is complicated by the semi-mysterious existence of Glock 18: neither the US nor the EU sites of Glock have any mentioning of Glock 18. I suppose it does not imply that Glock 18 is legally non-existent in NJ. I cannot find any official technical information on Glock 18. Every available Internet source states that Glock 18 and Glock 17 are actually incompatible: http://www.cybershooters.org/dgca/prod01.htm One cannot put a Glock 18 slide on a Glock 17 frame. This seems to invalidate the claim that Glock 17 is "a semi-automatic version of" Glock 18. However, until this position is confirmed by the NJSP, I suppose one would still take a risk by using a threaded barrel in Glock 17. Another murky issue is the use of threaded barrels in, say, Glock 22. To the best of my knowledge, Glock has never made anything in .40S&W with a full auto capability. This seems to provide very strong support to the position that Glock 22 is NOT "a semi-automatic version of an automatic firearm", and therefore threaded barrels should be perfectly legal in Glock 22. However, there exist various full auto conversions (illegal in the US!) for Glock 22, or any other Glock for that matter, see, e.g. http://www.defensereview.com/select-firefull-auto-glock-22-40-sw-machine-pistol-at-the-range-sts-arms-select-fire-backplatebackplate-fire-selector-switch-for-glock-pistols-video/ and http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2011/03/04/how-to-make-your-glock-fully-automatic/ I wonder if that would put at risk the use of a threaded barrel in any Glock in NJ. Of course, in my view, such a position should have no legal standing, since with sufficient ingenuity, almost any semi-automatic pistol can be converted to full auto. Any informed opinion on this issue would be highly appreciated. is there a way to get a definitive answer to these questions?
