  1. Given enough time, just about anything............ But, some of the above suggestions are the most likely to go up in value since they are already in high demand.
  2. No, we must follow these requirements because they written into the actual law under 2C:58-3
  3. That's probably because in the early 90's they a bout of handguns getting stolen out of that place. Some of the loaders had figured out what companies were gun distibutors and were tossing the packages on top of the trucks and would then have an accomplice follow them out of there and wait for the packages to fall of the the truck. Most of the stollen handguns turned up in Newark. Nowadays they have a large brush that the trucks drive under as they leave the terminal to keep this method of theft from happening.
  4. It's a phase old man.............you'll snap out of it soon enough. Let's not forget, CMP will be selling IHC's sometime soon............
  5. Nowhere in the LAW (2C) does it say a mag must be permanently blocked. Only in the Administrative Code (title 13, which is an Attorney General's interpretation of 2C) does it say that mags need to be permanently blocked. Dealers need to be concerned with what the AC says because they can get their license yanked if the break the rules set forth in the AC. The OP is not a dealer, and him getting charged with having a "high cap" mag is unlikely since he did not violate the LAW under 2C. in order for a prosecutor to get a conviction in a case like this, the prosecutor would have to convince a judge that wording of the law under 2C (the AC is not relevant in a trial) really means the mag needs to be permanently blocked - a reach at best, and if the prosecution loses, they have just created a new precedent that mags do not need to be permanently blocked, something the prosecutors offices and the AG do not want. That being said - this is NJ, and the activist judges in this state are capable of anything.
  6. It's been dry and storm free all day in North Jersey................My guess is the anti gunners were doing their rain dance against you for having FA and carrying.
  7. I would agree with this^^^^^^^^^^^ Let them get you a new one or a refund and order one elsewhere.
  8. The Russain Mosins we've been buying are actually coming out of the Ukraine. Russia itself has millions of them in arsenals (along with SVTs, Draganovs, Tokarevs, Makarovs, Nagants, etc) but is not importing them because of an agreement they signed with the US back when Clinton was president. There has been a good bit of speculation due to the fact that Russia joined the WTO recently and such agreements are invalid under WTO rules. If that's the case, there is potential for a new flood of russian guns and ammo to come in.
  9. I've bought handguns from someone who had inherited them and was granted an exemption without a problem. If you apply for an exemption in this case (or in most cases), it will more than likely be approved.
  10. Although black bear attacks are exceedingly rare, there have been people killed by black bears and a few of those people were beleived to be killed by hungry black bears that were just coming out of hibernation. While the vast majority of black bears will never attack humans (especially adults), black bears are the most unpredictable bears we have in North America. I wouldn't take it for granted that they won't attack anyone.
  11. I think it also weighs around 53 oz.
  12. Yes, detachable magizine is the qualifier......... If it has one, then and only then, the evil features must be counted.
  13. It doesn't matter what is done to the pistol after it's manufactured because the 50 oz. rule is based on the pistol's manufactured weight.
  14. "The amnesty takes place between June 1-30, 2013, and during this time police will not recommend weapons-related Criminal Code charges that might otherwise apply against people who are turning in these items." "Recommend" ???? What does that exactly mean? You still could be charged if the prosecutor wanted to? Doesn't really sound like an amnesty in that case.
  15. You're trying to use logic with people that have an agenda and absolutely no interest in rational thought.
  16. Not a good idea. Do you really think the press is going to look at this the way we do? They are going to spin this story into a 7 part series about how people are buying guns on the internet illegally and how "we" need to ban all internet gun sales.
  17. Not rare, but a lot less common and more valuable than Russian M44's. Leave it alone, you're not going to improving anything by messing with it.
  18. I made one out of a piece of rubber mud flap for a PSL I was having problems with, runs like a champ now.
  19. NJSP Motor Carrier enforcement, they always drive SUV's - the step van is the smoke testing unit, they only use that at rest stops, scales and other areas where they can pull trucks off the road.
  20. ^^^THIS^^^^^ If they're not running the scales, they go out and stop commercial vehicles to do safety inspections. They often work together in the same area on a particular day, the next day it will be somewhere else.
  21. Your best bet is to save any receipts from when you purchased the gun in Texas, if you still have them. Should your gun be confiscated, it will eventually be returned to you (unless the gun is stolen property) because the "authorities" would not have any legal reason to seize it from you. You do not need a permit to own a handgun in NJ, only to buy a handgun. Having a receipt would make it easier to prove you bought it legally.
  22. CMP It might take a couple months to get, but the Greek HXP ammo is good stuff.
  23. Unless that cop has had federal immigration law training, he cannot try to determine a person's legal status in this country. Only if the cops arrest someone for another crime, they then can call ICE and have ICE determine the person's status. A cop who is untrained in federal immigration law asking a person about their legal status could open them up to a civil rights lawsuit.
  24. The mark on your bolt is a Russian "Izzy" arsenal stamp. The Finns built almost no receivers, rather they took captured Russian M91's and some 91/30's, or in some cases they bought Mosins from other countries or were given them as aid (by the Germans who captured them in battles) and rebarreled them and reworked them. The tang on that rifle will tell you it's true age, the date on the barrel is when the Finns reworked it.
