  1. The free states and "ammo flippers" need to stop buying up the supply , and let us behind enemy lines get a chance to stock up! But yea, really, I'm starting to get nervous especially when my normal bullet head manufacturer is saying there is a 1.5 year waiting list for 9mm 124gr JHP's.
  2. No go, doesn't matter what gun the mag goes into, if the mag is capable of feeding consecutively over 15 rounds of ammunition into a semi-automatic firearm it is banned. Doesn't matter if you are using the mag in a BA today, if it fits into a SA rifle, its illegal even if you dont own a SA rifle. Edit: If there was a proprietary mag for a BA, that no SA rifle will accept, then yes, technically you could have a 30 rounder. If at any time someone makes a SA rifle that takes those mags, it will then be instantly illegal.
  3. Too unrealistic. All their clothes look fresh, with modern stretchy fabrics and bright colors. The modern crossbows look like they just came off the shelf. And really, a musket? Then there is the locket thingy they keep flashing around, like its some kind of magical talisman. Really,.. magic and voodoo? Bleh They need to learn some lessons from Walking Dead IMO.
  4. They can make some t-shirts for the NY state legislature... "We infringed and trampled their rights, and all we got was this stinking torn up lawn"
  5. The bottom line is that NJ can drag any NJ gun owner through the mud if they really wanted to. Even if everything is "100%" legal to the letter of the law, they can still drag you into court on all sorts of charges and you have to prove you are legal within the exemptions. Remember guilty until proven innocent, it is not a joke, this is how our laws are written. That being said, the same applies to magazines. The statutes say one thing, then there are the NJAC guidelines saying that temp blocked mags are not OK, and they will try to prosecute you as if they are "large cap". Now it comes down to the judge and jury. Can the prosecutor successfully argue and demonstrate that your blocked mag is indeed still a "large cap" mag as defined in the statutes because it can easily be reversed back to holding more then 15 rounds? That is the question that you have to ask yourself. Is your modification "permanent" enough that when the prosecutor demonstrates reversing it back, it is too easy to do, even to the point of being deliberately easy. They will then just have to convince the jury that you are a psycho gun nut/future killer who is just trying to "skirt the law". If they have to show the usage of power tools, grinding, cutting, re-building, etc to the point of if being rather ridiculous, maybe the jury will not convict because it was obvious that the modifications were rather permanent and the prosecutor is overstepping to the point of fabrication of a new mag. Then you can attack back showing how you are just a hobby gun target shooter, who is doing everything they can to abide by NJ laws put there to keep everyone safe and sound.... All hail NJ and all that stuff. The same can be said of pinned stocks, pinned muzzle brakes, etc. I remember a NY State vid a prosecutor put together showing a gun shop's muzzle brake pin being un-done. It can be done and they showed them drilling the pin out and un-threading the brake. Now it is an evil feature threaded barrel. Shops offer this service, and it is very possible with the right tools to un-do a blind pin without damaging the threads. Just an example. The bottom line is if NJ has a bug up its butt to have you in a bind, they can and will have at it. You want to make it as difficult as possible for them to be able to pick you apart in a NJ puppet court.
  6. Is there anything that China makes that is original and not a knock off or a poorly disguised "clone" of something else? Pretty rotten. OP, I'm no Sig expert, but I do own two of them. I would go for a modern version as it has everything that you are looking for plus a warranty. I think it is cool to buy an older German Sig and make her pretty, but I would use it for what it is and not try to perform major surgery on it. Just IMO.
  7. Was nothing but a fishing/harassment expedition. A way for the govt to say "you're on our list".
  8. Have to love the "for the children" arguments that have been popping up all over. It seems if you can pile enough exploited children up behind you while you speak, that is supposed to get you the sympathy votes for whatever BS you are pitching.
  9. A friend helped find me some 226 mags from a guy selling them on sigforum.com marketplace. Otherwise I was in the same boat as you. New gun, but couldn't find mags to run in games with. Give the forums a try, maybe place a WTB ad. Seems lots of folks in other states went out and bought a ton during their state's ban scare, and as anti-gun bills get knocked out of their respective state's legislators, they want to sell off their excess stock.
  10. They are just exercising a few pointers from Naomi Wolf's guide on how to move the US to fascism. Specifically #3 - Develop a thug caste - ATF/DHS, need I say more #4 - Target Key Individuals - target popular people who go against the grain in the grand plan , in this case Kyle Myers in order to make an example. I'm amazed that no arrests were made on trumped up charges similar to how NJ handles gun owners.
  11. So this thing exists, and can be had for $17,000. Trackingpoint's computerized rifle scope and trigger system. First you tag your target in the display. The scope viewer will then range and tag the target with a red dot. The scope will then calculate bullet drop for range (it has all of the rifle and round's ballistics info), it will then wait for you to pull the trigger on a newly formed electronic target reticule. Once you pull the trigger, the scope will then wait for you to line up the shot on the formerly tagged marker before letting the round go via the electronic trigger. They took a new shooter, who never shot a rifle before in his life, and had him hit a plate at 1,000 yards on the first try. http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/03/bullseye-from-1000-yards-shooting-the-17000-linux-powered-rifle/
  12. OP: Just using some deduction, I would think that most LE wouldn't want to "get involved" publicly with this no matter what they thought. When you see in the news various high ranking NJ LEO's standing lockstep with the Cryptkeeper and other politicians at anti-gun rights freak show circus events, it kinda makes sense. It never helps to be known as "that guy" to your superiors in your peer group. Definitely can be viewed as a career limiting move.
  13. Congrats on the new gun. I like your style, easier to ask for forgiveness then to ask for permission.
  14. First step of de-fanging society is to go after those with the most know-how around using those fangs.
  15. To add to the conversation on IP cameras and recording/managing them... Many of the top players in home/office NAS appliances include apps that allow them to act as recording/central management for multiple IP cameras. I have a Synology NAS, and it comes with a NVR (Network Video Recorder) app. It allows you to cobble together all sorts of makes and models of IP cameras into a pro-grade surveillance system. It is free for one camera, and there is a charge for adding additional ones. Details here : http://www.synology.com/surveillance/index.php?lang=us The nice thing about doing this in a NAS appliance is that it is always on, does a ton of other stuff for you, and takes way less power then leaving a PC on all the time. They are also much more cost efficient then building a purpose built PC for NVR/DVR duties.
  16. Good idea Anthony. I remember we were discussing the first DA shot at OB this past weekend. I may look into what I can do , if anything for the 226. Especially since I'm a DA/SA newb when it comes to gun games.
  17. Just switched about a month ago from electric to safety razor / wet shaving. Was on a recommendation from a friend. Skin feels better, and its actually fun to shave now instead of it being a chore. Previously I've been using an electric for about 18 years.

  19. Yep, that IP camera is an on-demand view type of setup. You will need something that records like a DVR. My Synology NAS has a IP camera DVR app built into it for instance. IMO you are better off with a complete 4 channel CCTV + DVR system. Like this one from costco : http://www.costco.com/Q-See-4-Channel-Full-D1-Real-Time-DVR-Security-System-with-500GB-and-4-High-Resolution-Cameras.product.100036400.html
  20. IMO, if you are going to go for a Sig, go for a metal frame gun. Its a religious argument, so I'm not going to say why other then it feels nice in the hand. 226 if you want a full frame, 229 for something more compact. So far I'm loving my 226 in 9mm. Its a beefy gun, and will easily tame the .357sig round. If you are interested in a plastic gun in .357 sig. I am selling a Gen3 Glock 31 in .357sig and do have a bunch of ammo I can sell with it also. PM me if interested.
  21. All dogs have a potential to black-out and go full prey drive. IMO some breeds have a higher propensity for this behavior, and without careful training and handling , it can easily result in a mess like this. All of these pit-bull related attacks are the result of poor or improper training and handling. Some breeds you can get away with lax obedience training like a golden retriever, other breeds its like walking around with a time bomb. American Bulldogs are bred and used for hunting wild boar, as in catching them and pinning them to the ground by the neck. It is something desirable to have in the breed. But if owners don't understand this type of prey drive, and don't learn how to control and let the dog have some kind of outlet for that energy, something like this sea lion will pay the price... or worse a child.
  22. IMO, The best deterrence for this crap is a CCTV DVR system, as others have pointed out. One of the best $300 I've ever spent. Two cameras in the front, and two in the back. At least one on the front/back entrances, and the other 2 on larger areas. When opportunistic crooks get a sight of a camera system, it will force them into a corner to change their plans, as in using disguises and act in a more suspicious manner in approaching and ex-filtrating from your porch. If they are using a car they would probably determine they will want to cover license plates, and even with that you have the make/model/color, and direction they went in. Most likely they will stop with the shenanigans and go find something else to do with their time.
  23. Good times with good people. Was fun shooting with everyone in the squad. Alec, good job on the stage , it high on my list of most fun stages ever shot.
