  1. The brake from my Stag was just blind pinned and not welded. I have been using 1200 degree silver solder. Its much easier and cleaner to apply. That brake isnt coming off.
  2. I had a NICS denied because NICS recorded the previous purchase date incorrectly. I received a call from the NJSP and was given a warning (well more like a heads up). I explained my situation and all was ok.
  3. what airport did you fly out of in NJ? Im considering bringing my glock with me to FL for some range time.
  4. Since these barrels have blind pinned brakes, is it still possible to slide the barrel nut on? im assuming yes because somehow it was taken off, but i still need to ask. What feed ramps are on these barrels?
  5. I think that when they check your firearm for live ammo, they should also check your armpits for deodorant. I think gun shows are the smelliest places ive ever been.
  6. This rifle is awesome. I have one and am able to hit a 3" spinner at 200 yds...of course its aimed like an artillery piece, but the rifle is dead nuts accurate with the right ammo.
  7. oddly...this reminds me of when kids turned their parents in for certain crimes against the state in the USSR.
  8. I would like to be able to own an FAL or an M1 carbine, along with some NFA stuff. The mag restrictions kills a lot of pistols.
  9. Not enough guidos were eaten in the trailer. And the dude shooting at the shark has a 30rd mag. This is NJ remember...
  10. Does this guy have a bad drug problem? Maybe nature will take its course.
  11. What would you expect? The police and the govt to actually follow the law?
  12. Just watch your wife doesnt stick you with a retraining order out of spite. They use that as leverage for court.
  13. I heard it from home. as much as i **** about NJ, being a few miles away from the track is nice. I used to drive to the track on slicks and skinnies from my house. No trailer required.
  14. I flew out of Ft Myers and the lady at the counter wanted to look at it and make sure it was unloaded. Then she said my glock looked "dangerous".
  15. So flying out of Newark is ok with a pistol? I avoided it because i wasnt sure if it were covered under the exemptions and or FOPA
  16. Brick Armory bought them? Lol...its like a guy with AIDS trying to adopt a dog with a brain tumor. They both wont last long... I wish gun stores were run like a business that gave a shit about things like customer service...and following up...and returning your phone call.
  17. I have a Stag upper, and the muzzle brake is blind pinned on at the factory. If its a Miculek...its going to be a loud brake.
  18. One of my Ar's has Miculek muzzle brake and its loud from every direction. The other AR has a Levang Linear Comensator. The Levang is much much easier on everyone's ears.
  19. There isn't any advise from the attorney general, or specific listing on the laws as to what "permanently" attached means, but most people use the guidelines from the federal assault weapon ban. One of my AR's has a blind pinned muzzle brake, the other is attached with 1000 or 1500 degree silver solder. The silver solder is the easiest to apply. For legal purposes, i removed the lower from the upper and had it in a different location while i was doing the work. The blind pin that was installed by Stag required a milling machine for removal without destroying the brake. The silver soldered brake required a heat sink on the barrel, and localized heat on the muzzle brake itself to avoid damaging the barrel. I believe the gist of the law is to avoid someone from being able to easily attached a suppressor or flash hider. But the way the law is written, as usual, will catch people who otherwise would innocently want to fix their rifle or change something into criminals. I wish someone who just make a barrel with an integral muzzle brake cuts and a target crown.
  20. I've seen three or four guys at Central Jersey have the stuck case issue. I can attest to the fact that it does happen. As far as the true cause...i'm not sure.
  21. You can tig weld it back together no sweat. Just get a good competent welder.
  22. Stock set still available? Looking for another mossberg set?
  23. PA is the new NJ. My wife and i have been looking to get out of this dump for a variety of reasons, but the eastern part of PA resembles central NJ 15 years ago. Just wait. It will happen there too. The NYers spill into NJ to escape the cesspool they came from, then they vote and conduct themselves the same way as if they were in NY. Pretty soon like locusts, they destroy where they move to and have to move on. I think its similar to the aliens from the movie Independence Day. In conclusion...don't go where everyone else from NJ and NY is going. http://www.forbes.com/special-report/2011/migration.html
